It's my birthday, Snowflakes!!! The day yours truly was given birth to lmfao, I-
Okay, anyway, I forgot to publish this chapter before I left my place to celebrate lmfao. So here's Chapter 18, sorry for the long wait! ( ✧≖ ͜ʖ≖)└ "When it comes to people you really love, you don't care about yourself." -Kurosawa Yamato (Say I Love You) ┐
"Come on, just one bowl!"
Naruko persistently tugged on Sasuke's backpack, refusing to let go any moment now. Sasuke, however, nonchalantly brushed off her attempts at forcing him to succumb to her demands, already gotten used to her behavior.
"No," he promptly rejected, making her groan loudly.
Passersby and fellow students from the Ninja Academy couldn't help but pay the pair of childhood friends some curious glances. The pair being friends was already odd enough, but to add to that, the usually stoic Uchiha Sasuke for some reason only bursts out of his personal bubble when the troublemaker Namikaze Naruko was around. Although the two can always be found near each other, it was still strange remembering that they're such close friends, because of the huge difference between them.
And so, every single student walking out of the Academy and every single civilian passing by couldn't keep their eyes to themselves. However, the two friends in-question couldn't even be bothered to take notice that they were already garnering a lot of attention.
The current situation entails Naruko gripping Sasuke's backpack which was already on the boy's back as she tried to forcefully pull him towards the direction of Ichiraku Ramen. On the other hand, Sasuke himself stubbornly grasps the girl's own backpack as he does the same but towards the opposite direction which is where Naruko's family home is located.
Some male students quickly winced as Naruko suddenly bit on Sasuke's hand to make him let go, however Sasuke managed to persevere, making her whine all the more. Meanwhile, a couple of girls couldn't help but glare at Naruko with envy for acting so close with their beloved Sasuke-kun.
"I just wanna eat some ramen, S'suke! Why can't I have atleast one bowl? It's been a long time since I've last gone to Ichiraku Ramen!" Naruko wails. The last statement was a tiny white lie since she had actually gone a few days or weeks ago, but anyway, her words fell on deaf ears and her strength seems to slowly dissipate as Sasuke's own persistence wins over.
Her hand leisurely lets go of the grasp she had on Sasuke's backpack, making him sigh in relief, before Naruko suddenly reached out towards the direction of Ichiraku Ramen with an overly dramatic cry. "...Boo hoo, Ramen-sama!! We have lost once again to this darned villain today, but I shall return for you one day!"
Hearing her dramatic proclamations, Sasuke rolled his eyes as he shifted his grip from her backpack onto her wrist. Thus, he tugged on his childhood friend's hand and began to walk with his face containing no emotions to express how he felt at the moment. He was exhausted, acting as the girl's babysitter most of the time- Scratch that, he's been acting as her babysitter ever since the first time they've been together, and that's almost basically since he was a baby!
Anyway...
He supposes that stress and exhaustion had been slowly creeping up on him. But Uchihas don't do emotions -- or so they say -- so he doesn't let even a single bit slip on his face. On the other hand, Naruko doesn't even bother exerting any strength to show her reluctance anymore as she lets Sasuke pull her along with him as one would with a sack of rice.
