(A/n: For the lovely my_ugly_ducklings 💕. It got kind of long. Hopefully, I've done your request justice. Enjoy!)

Looking out the window at your home country your heart furiously beats in your chest. It had been a few months since you had been here. The reason you came back was special. An old friend and rival of yours asked you to help him with training.

You were happy to oblige him since it has been so long since you saw him. Your mind was racked with thoughts of how he looked and how much has he improved physically and mentally. Needless to say, you were excited.

The cab pulls up to the oversized building and the driver kindly bids you a good day and drops you off. You look around for your buddy amongst the people flooding in. He said he would wait at the entrance for you and sure enough you saw him waving at you from a distance away.

"Over here!" He yells with his hands cupped over his mouth.

"Daewi!" You run towards the taller male throwing your arms up for a hug.

Chuckling he openly receives you, squeezing you in his arms. "Long time no see, (F/n). I missed you." He says separating from you.

"I missed you too. I'm so excited to be back in Korea! It's been a while." You smile up at him.

"It really has. For a second, I thought you wouldn't make it." Daewi pats your head.

"What kind of friend would I be if I did that? Besides, Father would turn in his grave if I ignored his favorite student's request."

"Hm. How is your mother?"

"She's doing well. Still teaching martial arts in America."

"That's good to hear." Daewi grins.

"How is your sister doing? Did she give you hell for losing your eye?" You gently touch his face with a slight frown.

"She's doing great. Still very bad at cooking, but well. And yeah, she called me weak and didn't want me to fight anymore. As you can see I still am though."

"Hm. Such a shame. Now I only have one beautiful eye to stare into, but guess one is better than none."

Blushing from the remark Daewi clears his throat. "Well, there are a few matches before it is my team's turn to fight. Want to meet my friends?"

"Of course! I have to see the people taking care of my underling." You playfully punch him in the chest.

"You will like them. They are really great people. Let's head inside."

"Okay."

Since around middle school, you and Daewi have been friends. It all started with his sister enrolling him into your father's Kyokushin dojo, which she also took when she was younger.

You also took the classes being the teacher's daughter and from there Daewi and yourself just naturally clicked. He often would come over to play with you and get in some extra sparring practice. He has never defeated you once.

Of course, he wouldn't. You were studying Kyokushin from your father and Judo with your mother since the age of five. You successfully mastered them both at sixteen.

Inside the arena people loiter around everywhere, nearly occupying the entire place. Some were joking and laughing. Others were stretching and practicing.

The air was filled with musk and perfumes.  Guys and even a few girls were staring at you. You weren't sure if it was hate or adoration, but it didn't matter. If anyone steps to you you won't hesitate to take them out.
