Chapter 4

Fire

His answer seeped through in me. If I would ask some guy about it, he will probably say yes in a heartbeat. But this guy... wow.

"Uhm..." I looked away. Embarrassed that I even asked that. "Okay." I was still in dazed because of his gentle answer but I'm trying my best to snap out of it.

He looked at his wrist watch and then back to me. "I should go back. I still have a lot to read." He said.

Medyo nataranta pa ako nang nagsimula na siyang mag lakad. "Wait!" Hinila ko ang coat niya para lang maharap niya ako ulit. This man keeps on walking out on me and it's already getting on my nerves. Pero hindi ko magawang magalit ng tuluyan. Damn, am I crushing or what?

"Can I atleast know your name? I kept on calling you med guy." I said.

"Then my name is med guy."

Tinignan ko siya ng masama dahil doon. Aba't tignan mo nga naman at pilosopo din pala ang isang 'to.

"Seriously, I just want to know your name." I desperately said. He looked at me closely like it was such a sight to see me beg for something.

"Vance. Vance Vicente." He said and then he started walking back to the library.

I mentally noted that and followed him inside. Nakaupo na siya pagkabalik ko kaya pumunta na rin ako kay Katrina na kuryosong nakatitig sa'kin. There's a smile plastered on my face and  I am still in denial about the main reason. But I know what it is.

"Stop that look. We didn't do a quickie." I said to her as I was sitting on my chair.

"I know. What happened? Bakit bigla kang kinuha dito?"

I smirked as I held up my I.D. "He's a good guy naman pala despite of his rudeness. I think I like him." I boldly said to her.

Tumawa siya at binato ako ng ballpen. This bitch.

"Sira! I know you like him since day one. You kept on glancing at his sleeping state. Plus, you can't get your eyes off him whenever we are having our project done here!"

Pinanlakihan ko siya ng mata at tinignan si Vance to check if he heard it all. Good thing he's busy reading a book.

"See? You're staring again." She pointed out.

Inalis ko ang tingin ko kay Vance at sumandal sa upuan habang humahalukipkip.

"Hindi ah. I started liking him now because he rescued my I.D from those pervert engineers. I owe him a thing."

"And you need to pay him back with what? Sex?"

Binato ko pabalik sa kanya ang ballpen. "Kadiri ka! It's not like that, okay!?" Sabi ko pero natatawa na rin. If he likes it, why not? But no, I am not that kind of person. And he seems to be a man with great principles even though his body is screaming with power and a great sex appeal.

Nagtawanan kami ni Kat at lumipad muli ang tingin ko kay Vance. When he catched my eyesight with his, ngumisi ako. Yes. Even though he's intimidating, I like him.

He looked away as if I didn't caught him staring at me, too. Mahina akong tumawa sa mga naiisip. Katrina on the other hand, kept shaking her head because of my actions.

That night, I couldn't sleep. I keep on thinking about that guy with deep green eyes. Pamilyar ang pakiramdam na ito. The last time I felt this way, I ended up in my ex's bed.
