Alyson's pov

My phone started ringing while I was making Kadon a sandwich. I went to answer it and see that it was the State Police and I immediately answered it.

"Hello is this Alyson Snow?" The man said on the other line.

"Yes is something wrong?" My thoughts instantly went to Aubree and Cole.

"Are you Aubree Pennington's mother?"

"Yes sir, is there something wrong with my daughter?"

"She was involved in a vehicular accident earlier today. It seemed as if they were trying to get off the exit in the storm but hit an icy patch. Cole Pennington was driving the car, he was ejected they are both in a medicinal induced coma. The pain would be too much for them to bear if they were not comatose. They are both in ICU at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre Medical Center. Could you please come to the hospital?"

"Yes officer. I will leave right away. How is her baby?"

"I'm not sure ma'am. I'm sure the doctor will be able to tell you as soon as you get here."

"Okay thank sir."

I quickly hung up the phone and grabbed mine and Kadon's coats.

"Kadon, do you want to go to Tay-Tay's?"

"Yeah!" He cheered.

"You're going to stay with Tay-Tay for a few days, okay?"

"Do I get to play wit Cass?"

"Yes, now go get your toothbrush and comb. When you're done put your coat and shoes on. Grandma is going to go get you some clothes. Hurry up baby."

"Otay."

He sprinted off towards the bathroom and I ran to his room. I grabbed his cars suitcase out of his closet and started to pack him clothes. He had enough clothes to last him a week, hopefully we'd be back before that. I sat his suitcase on the landing and went to pack myself clothes. My suitcase was stuck on the top shelf of the closet. Ugh, the joys of being a short person, I can never reach anything. Forget it; I'll just use a duffle bag. That was easy to reach it was on the floor. I started grabbing leggings, tee shirts, underwear, bras, and hoodies. I had about 6 days' worth of clothes. I ran into the bathroom and went to grab my tooth and hair brush and accidentally knocked everything else over.

"Come on Ally get it together. You don't have time for this."

I left the bathroom in disarray. I reached the landing, picked up Kadon's suitcase and started to take the stairs two at a time.

"Kadon come on honey, bring me your stuff so I can put it in your suitcase."

"Okay grandma."
