Chapter 19- Investigating the rumors

We are in the room on the second floor of the guild

These whole week we gathered informations about the rumors that has been going around

I overheard Racquel when she was crying and she was afraid that the kids would be in danger

That means that there is really something going on and including the people from my territory... I hope none of it is true

Because my people wouldn't do something like that. I know because we have our pride. They wouldn't go down like that.

There is five of us inside the room.

Including me, Lily, the twins and my maid Ana

She was standing beside me. Shai was walking around while Indie, Lily and me all sat down.

"Ok, so from what I have heard there is this group from the Northern territory who kidnaps these people from around here and sold them as slaves to other kingdoms." Shai started and pointed at the missing people posters on the board.

"And remember when the old orphanage has to be closed down so the orphan kids has to stay at their distant relatives and those who do not have one was left living on the streets" Indie added

"Yes, and also there are others who are lucky enough to get employed." I added because that is what the kids have told me

"The group that kidnaps people are said to be from the North and also have their hideout somewhere there" Shai said

"I also heard that they are the same group who sells slaves that was caught two years ago by that mercenary guild" Indie said

"What guild?" I asks

"Azure" Liliana replied

She was writing and taking notes of what we said.

"Is there any news of our people been missing too?" I looked at Ana and asked

I asked her to find out if there are also cases of our people been missing and today is the day I would find out because the suspicion would increase if none of it happen in the North.

She shakes her head but paused for a moment and then speak "None was reported missing or taken from our territory but there are some saying that there are strange people sighted near the borders and was being investigated now by the Duke "

I nodded, thank God my people are safe

"If that is true then the rumor where the Northern people are involve is false then they could possibly be the group that was taken down two years ago." Liliana said

"That would be more dangerous"Indie added

"Yes, they will because I also heard that they have grown bigger and was back for their revenge to Azure" Shai said

I looked at each of them and they all have an uneasiness expression on their faces

I don't know details of what happened two years ago.

I was still living in our territory and does not heard much of what has happened in the capital.

What I know is that the new guild, Azure were former mercenaries who traveled to every Kingdom. Their members are all from different Kingdoms and was also powerful and has unique magics and talent but their backgrounds is a mystery.

Recently I found out that they were allowed to settle down in this Kingdom because the King has made a deal as proposed to them that they will eliminate all the threats around this Kingdom.

One of them is the thing that has happened two years ago.

"Two years ago there is this group that sells slaves and they are not just a simple slaves but citizens of other Kingdoms with unique and powerful magic of their own." Liliana started telling the story

I remember the kid that I took in, she was the oldest, Anri she was 10 years old now. So when she was being transported she was only 8. I start to tear up remembering Anri.

"That group was powerful and has always escaped. They are pretty sneaky and was hard to track but two years ago something happened. One of their members betrayed them. And has sent the location they are taking to the mercenary group. Then there they managed to save the slaves being transported. The group has taken a lot of damaged but they manage to escape."

So that's what happened and the slaves who has nowhere to go remained in this Kingdom.

"If it is them then the only way we can get more informations about that group is going to the Azure guild" Indie suggested then looked up at her sister

"Urgh" Shai then rolled up her eyes when she notices her sister looked at her

Lily nodded

I agree because Shai has a connection in Azure which is Griffin but I also don't think that is a good idea.

"But won't they suspect that we are up to something?"

They then looked at me and also nodded to what I said

"Then let's think of some other way if we can't find out more then let's just use Shai" Indie said winking at her sister then Shai picked up a pillow on the couch then threw it at Indie which then laughs

"Be serious" I said to them

"I'm serious" Indie replied

I looked at Lily and she only agreed to what Indie has suggested.

So if we couldn't find another way then we will get more informations from Azure.

Currently this is not one of our guild's quest but seeing a few missing person poster and the rumor about the kidnapping and selling slaves. I would like to dig into it and also because it involves my people. I want to clear up their involvement.

When there's bad things going around, the North are the first one that comes to people's minds. Tsk
