Blair's POV

The doors opened. There were tables that stretched for yards, filled with upperclassmen of the different Hogwarts houses, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. We walked through the eisle, behind a good amount of people, so Draco and I wouldn't have to be the first sorted.

"Which house do you think you'll be in, Malfoy?" I looked over to him as we walked. His slick blonde hair didn't move an inch while we stepped by the tables.

"Slytherin. I wouldn't expect anything else. If I got sorted in Gryffindor I would probably pitch myself off the Astronomy Tower." He shot back.

After some pushing and shoving from Draco and his two brute friends, an order was formed at the front of the Great Hall, where an ancient hat sat on a wooden stool.

The Sorting Hat.

"Welcome students, I will now call you up one by one to be sorted into your houses by our very own Sorting Hat." Professor McGonagall spoke. She reached to her robe and pulled out a very long list, with careful calligraphy of every first year in the room.

"Hermione Granger." A short girl, with big, frizzy brown hair, cursed to herself under her breath and proceeded to the stool. She was sorted into Gryffindor, with the red headed kid from Diagon Alley, Ron Weasley.

"Draco Malfoy." He looked back to me and gave a short smile, before walking up to the pedestal proudly. As predicted, before even touching his head, the sorting hat yelled out,

"SLYTHERIN!"

He smirked and walked to the Slytherin tables as the other students celebrated their new member.

Harry Potter himself went up next, and found himself whispering to the hat, wishing not to be in Slytherin. I wonder why... Anyways, he was placed in Gryffindor with a long relieved sigh and a smile to his friends waiting at the table for him.

"Blair Lexington." I was startled. The room then went to a hush, with a few whispered comments from the surround.

I picked my chin up and put my shoulders back with the normal posture I carried, and slowly walked up to the pedestal with a small sign of courage.

My deep blue eyes glazed over the room, hundreds of others looking back at me, and the hat was placed on my head as I made my eyes to the end of the room.

I could hear another voice in my head, "Ahhh... Blair Lexington... So much lust to prove yourself, and an ambition to be of reputation, like the rest of your kind. I see multiple options, but I see only one true answer, which will be...

"SLYTHERIN!"

I let go of the breath I was holding. I gave a small smile and uncrossed my legs, jumping off the stool. The other houses looked content, but sad I wasn't to join them. I made my eyes over to Malfoy, who gave a smile to me, and signaled for me to sit across from him, which I made a short nod to.

We all talked and had some fun with our new house members, but unfortunately some faces we recognized from the boats were to join us in Slytherin, including Pansy Parkinson. She tried to sit by Draco, but I saw how uncomfortable Draco looked and proceeded to give her a death glare. She knew her place, and it would stay that way.

"Slytherins follow me to your dorms, it's time to go. Hurry up or I'll hex one of you." Prefects. Sometimes the power goes to their big heads and then act like idiots for the rest of the term.

Draco went ahead and I followed behind, with a girl I talked to at the table. My family knew her, but I've never made conversation at parties, Daphne Greengrass was quite the character.

That night was spent in the common room with my new friends, which we deemed the Slytherin Seven, which included Draco, Blaise Zambini, Daphne, Pansy Parkinson (with some pushing from her), Crabbe, Goyle, and me.
