Seoho sighed as his gaze shifted from his brother to the map that lay spread in front of them. He thanked his stars that he was not the future king and was just the crown prince. Youngjo definitely looked like he had lost a lot of sleep with dark and baggy circles bordering his fierce eyes.
"Your highness, the northern grows stronger day by day," Geonhak's stern voice echoed throughout the room. "Unless we do not ally our forces with the East, we have no chance of securing our kingdom."
Both the princes groaned internally recalling all the attacks on their people and their inability to do much being a small kingdom.
Youngjo frowned at the idea of allies but he knew he had no choice. "Send a messenger to the East. Tell them that I shall be sending a representative to their kingdom for a temporary peace treaty soon."
Seoho stood up abruptly from his seat, "Brother, we can't trust the East. Do you not remember our history with them?"
The older scrunched up his nose, the tension getting to him, "I know. But we have no option, Seoho." He paused to look at his younger brother, "Also, you shall be the one to go." It was as if he had read his mind because the very next second he spoke, "I cannot go. I need to stay here to make sure we are not under attack again. Our trust will be bettered if we send a Royal."
Seoho slumped back into his seat, weary at the thought of just travelling to the East, but then a thought crossed his mind. An opportunity, one might say. "Very well. But, only Geonhak shall assist me."
His demand did not sit well with Youngjo as his face contorted to that of snarl. "Why do you need him?"
"Do I not deserve protection?"
Youngjo folded his arms across his chest, trying to calm himself down. He knew the alterior motive of his younger brother's insistence to take Geonhak along with him. "Why don't you take Keonhee?"
Seoho gave him a sweet and sly smile, knowing what his brother thought of him. "He's your personal guard, isn't he? I wouldn't want to inconvenience you now, would I?" He placed his hands on the table, raising himself up, "Also, may I remind you. Geonhak is my personal guard. I am allowed to take him wherever I want."
Youngjo banged his hands on his table, all his pent up anger and frustration coming out once. "Remember what you will be going for."
"Of course I will."

Prancing down the hallway, hands folded behind his back, he hummed merrily hearing Geonhak's boots match his own pace. He couldn't help but smile.
"What are your true intentions, my Prince?"
Seoho swung around to directly face his stoic guard. He placed a hand on his shoulder, giving him a sly smile, "Don't worry, Geonhak. I do not wish ill upon anyone," he paused, leaning in close to his face, "Especially you."
The sudden redness in Geonhak's cheeks was a dead giveaway that he had managed to fluster him. He moved back and turned his back toward him. A smirk formed on his face, proud from his small accomplishment. He raised his hand and indicated for him to follow him. "Where are we going?"
"To the Royal Tailors to fit you for the trip. I cannot have you with me like this," he reasoned, aimlessly pointing at Geonhak's clothing.
"Must I not be in uniform?"
Seoho turned to his right and stood still to take in the beauty of the vast estate as he heard Geonhak halt right behind. The yellow acacia were in full bloom which caught Seoho's attention, walking towards it to admire them in the bright sunlight warming his skin.
