"hey,
it's me again, call me back if you get this
i know things between us are completely over,
but for some reason that doesn't process even as i get older"

chase whispered the words into his phone, his eyes clenched closed. rather then talking to y/n, he was sending her a voicemail. y/n never picked up her phone, so he wasn't surprised.

him and y/n used to be a thing, a very good and healthy thing. the relationship they had was borderline perfect. whether it was platonic or romantic, it was always great. until, push came to shove, and things ended almost as quick as things started.

"you broke my heart in places i hadn't even discovered
but at the same time,
you're the only one that took the time to heal it over
i'm really missing the late night talks, that ended during morning's dawn"

when y/n had ended everything, chase was fucking broken. broken was an understatement.

he was never one to cry, but after he lost y/n, there wasn't a day where he didn't cry. his heart was broken into a million pieces.

and yet, even after all the heartbreak she had caused him, he still desired her touch, her smile, her everything. y/n was the one person who listened, who helped him without wanting something in return.

the two would talk to each other late at night, then stay up together during the early mornings. and even if they didn't talk to each other that day, they'd always make sure to at least say goodnight to each other.

y/n made him feel loved. like a real type of love. a love only y/n could offer.

now, she's the one person that chase can say both fixed and broke his heart.

"you had my heart fluttering in ways no one else could make it flutter
and at the same time your smile could make it melt like butter"

y/n herself was perfect to chase. she had a perfect smile, perfect face, and the most beautiful and perfect words one could have. whatever she did, chase's heart would flutter in his chest.

he wasn't used to these types of feelings, all he knew was that y/n made him feel blissful.

just one smile and chase would melt to the floor. she had this power, she was like no other on this earth. and knowing that he lost her, it fucking hurt.

"i'm gonna miss this, i'm gonna miss us
i guess there isn't even an us..."

he was gonna miss whatever the two had. he may never see y/n ever again, but, there's possibly one way. he's willing to try anything.

this world was shit without someone to keep him stable. he was sad. he wasn't happy without y/n. he needed her. and yet, it kind of seems like y/n didn't exactly need him.

"i'm sorry, i'm so sorry
this will be the last call i promise
please tell everyone i love them
and you know what, don't bother calling back
i won't be here to receive it"

at least, chase wished y/n could tell his family and friends that he loved them, but y/n was in the same spot that he wanted to go.

he's been calling y/n's number for weeks now, and he'd never received an answer. she physically couldn't answer, and so the possibility of her answering his calls was impossible. and yet he tried. he tried and tried and tried, longing just to hear her voice.

until today. he had given up. her death had finally processed in his head. he couldn't live knowing that she was dead. he couldn't live knowing that the kind, beautiful person that he called his lover was dead, he couldn't handle it.

he just wanted to see her again. and he was going to try and do that as soon as possible. he grabs the container of random pills he had, smiling up at the ceiling. this might just be the day he sees her again.

"bye babe..."
