for the longest time y/n could call hamzah her best friend. he was always there for her, and he'd never fail to make her smile or laugh. but eventually, he wasn't just a best friend anymore, he'd become her lover. and that was one of the things she'd never regret. he was always so kind to her, and whenever she spent time with him, there was never a dull moment.

and so, she was excited. on her walk to his front door, she had a pep in her step, her face-eating grin never once leaving her face. she always got giddy whenever she was about to hang out with hamzah, and this time was extra special, since it was actually their anniversary. admittedly it was a three month anniversary, but it was special nevertheless.

in a swift motion, she knocks on his door, just waiting to see his face again. the door swings open, and hamzah stands there with wide eyes, but a smile lingering on his lips.

"y/n!" he practically yelled, wrapping his arms around her waist. y/n let out a small laugh, wrapping her arms around his neck.

"hamzah!" she says back, just as loud as he had done it before. "i've missed you, babe."

he pulls back, cupping one of his hands on her cheek. he smiles at her, leaning close enough where their nose rub against each other's.

"god, i missed you so much," he whispers, "even though i seen you yesterday too."

y/n laughed, pulling away from him. "you're such a flirt, aren't you?"

hamzah smirks at her while he grabs her hand to lead her into the house. luckily for them, no one else was home, so they'd be able to spend quality time together. for their small anniversary, hamzah wanted to stay in for a day, and then take y/n out the next day. y/n was obviously down for the idea, as she'd do anything with him.

hamzah continued to guide y/n through the house, even though she had been there plenty of times. he just wanted to have an excuse to hold her hand. when they arrived at the room, he opened his door with a sheepish smile. "sorry if it's a bit messy, you arrived in the middle of me cleaning it."

the room was littered with romantic items. lit candles had created a dim atmosphere, and a nicely wrapped present on his bedside table. all of that had distracted y/n from the few misplaced items that covered his floor.

she looks over at hamzah with a soft blush coating her cheeks, smiling at how nervous the boy seemed. "babe, you didn't have to do all this, this is so sweet."

"hey, you deserve only the best," hamzah smiles over at her. "i was trying to impress you, y'know, so i'm sorry if the mess like, throws you off."

"babe, you don't have to worry about the mess," y/n places a soft kiss on his cheek, smiling up at him. "and if you need, i can help you clean up. it'll be fun!"

hamzah once looks at her with a sheepish smile, "i feel bad accepting your offer, but my mom would be pretty mad if she found it like this."

"it's settled then, and then afterwards we can order some food in."

"perfect."

it had only taken a few minutes of the two cleaning the room until hamzah groaned, plopping backwards onto his bed. "scratch when i said this was perfect, this is boring, that's what it is."

y/n looks over at him, giggling at the exaggerated pout on his face. "c'mon, it's not that bad."

as if to further prove her point, she grabs a box that sat in the middle of the room, but as the lid falls open, she can't help the gasp that escapes her mouth. he looks over at her with wide eyes. "you're not creeped out, are you?"

the box was filled with pictures of y/n and him, ranging from recent times to old times. y/n looks over at him with a look that screamed no. "no, this is honestly really cute. i'm just surprised on how you kept some of these in such good condition."

upon hearing that she wasn't creeped out, he let's out a sigh, rubbing at the back of his neck. "well, when you care about something, it's quite easy to keep it safe."

"god, you get cuter and cuter whenever you open your mouth," y/n sits down on the floor, leaning her back against the edge of the bed.

he gets up from his spot on the bed to sit down next to her, looking over at her with a soft blush coating his cheeks. "and you get cuter every time i look at you."

she smiles at him, then focuses her attention back on the photos. the two go through them, smiling at the memories that were attached to the respective photograph. but, that all changed when y/n's eyes land on that photo. the one that hamzah tried ever so hard to pretend it didn't exist.

it was a photo of the two when they were younger. it was on y/n's tenth birthday, and the both of them were dressed as ballerinas. y/n's idea.

hamzah's eyes also widen when he sees the poor, and he desperately tries to hide it, but gives up when y/n falls into a fit of laughter. his face starts to heat up, and he groans while throwing his head back. but he was desperately trying not too join in laughing, something he was failing at. "god, that's so embarrassing..."

after finally catching her breath after laughing so hard, she wraps her arm around his neck, bringing him close. "don't worry, you're actually really pretty as a ballerina."

"i only did that to make you happy," he chuckled. "don't get the story twisted."

"you loved it." she teased, poking his side.

he hops up, offering his arm out to pull y/n up as well. "speaking of things i love..."

y/n looks at him with a quirked eyebrow, curious as to what he was getting at.

he grabs the box from his bed side table, standing up tall as he clears his throat. "y/n, darling, i want, no, i need you to know that i absolutely fucking love you. you, you really are my favourite person in this whole entire world. you're just, ugh, words can't even describe how you make me feel sometimes... but, you make me happy. that's all i can ask for."

he hands it over to the small box to y/n, who looks at him with tears in her eyes. god, this man really did things to her. as gentle as she possibly could, y/n starts to unwrap the box shaped item, ignoring butterflies that fluttered endlessly in her stomach. she finally opens the box, a grin creeping on her face when she sees that it was a necklace with the initial of her name and a h.

y/n looks over at him with love and adoration in her eyes, quickly wrapping her arms around him. "thank you so much, this is honestly really beautiful. i love you, i love you so much more then anyone else. i swear, you're the only one that's meant for me."

he looks down at her with a smile, his eyes crinkling with just how much he'd been smiling. "i'm so glad we were chosen to be partners in kindergarten, cause like, look at us now. i've never been happier."

y/n giggles, burrowing her face into his neck. "happy three month anniversary babe."

"happy anniversary."
