We were driving through the countryside, a storm brewing above us. Well, we weren't driving. Grover called Camp Half-Blood's Head of Security, Argus, the 100 eyed giant created by Hera. He was surprisingly mute, but was very observant.
The rain patted against the Delphi Strawberry Service van, as they sped towards the Camp for Demigods. Suddenly, the van veered out of the way of something. Argus stuck a hand out the window, an eye on the back of his hand checking what it was.
He shook his head, and brought his hand back. "So, Percy. You seem to be aware of the Godly World. Do you know your godly parent?" Grover asked, tense. "Technically, no. No one knows my godly parent, not even my mom. But, I was adopted by Poseidon, who got with my mother before I was born," I answered.
Grover nodded, unsure what to say next. Suddenly, his ears perked up. "Argus, we need to go faster," Grover said, barely above a whisper. Argus Speed up. "What's behind us?" I asked warily.
"Pasiphae's Son, The Minotaur," Grover answered, and I heard the bellow. I moved towards my door, and got it open. I looked behind us, and I could see the lumbering hulk of meat and fur on our tail, visible by our taillights.
"Argus! It's at least an inch from us!" I practically screamed in his ear. Argus merely blinked, and pointed to the tallest pine I've ever seen. "That's Camp. That's where we need to go," Grover called.
DAD! I shouted mentally. Immediately, I felt Poseidon's presence in my head. I need the rain to stop. We need to drive up a muddy hill, I informed. I felt him nod, and the falling rain froze in midair.
The ground was no longer wet, and we managed to get traction. Unfortunately, so did the damn beast. He smashed into us, and we skidded across the ground, a quarter up the hill.
Once we reach the crest, let it fall, I told him. I felt him nod again, although more strained. I opened the door, and hauled Grover behind me, Argus getting his legs. The beast was lumbering towards the van, and stopped to sniff it.
Argus and I carried Grover about 3/4 to the crest, when the beast caught up to us, having our scent. He bellowed in face, and I had to wipe away spittle. But, as he breathed in, a look of fear flashed in its eyes, and backed away a few steps.
"Get Grover over the crest," I ordered, exchanging my end to Argus, never letting my eyes leave the beast's. Argus carefully dragged Grover along, until they were over the crest.
The Minotaur stood motionless the entire time, staring wide-eyed with fear at me. I took a step forward, and he stepped back, then charged. Although, not at me. He hightailed the opposite direction.
I just stood there confused, yet intrigued. The rain started to fall around me again, and I felt reenergized. I walked the rest of the way, before collapsing on the Big House's Deck from all the weirdness.
Time Skip:
I woke up in a hospital bed, being spoon-fed nectar. Argus stood by the door, keeping on us. Speaking of us, a girl around my age was currently spoon-feeding me. She had a soft, yet intimidating face, with a Californian Complexion. Beautiful, luscious Golden curls that hung to her shoulders.
Her eyes were a stunning stormy gray, analyzing every detail about me. She wore an Orange T-Shirt with Camp Half-Blood imprinted on it in Times New Roman font. Blue Jean Shorts, and Greek Sandals.
"Thank you," I said, surprised how hoarse my voice was. She seemed startled that I was awake, then glared. "For what?" She hissed. "For nursing me. I can probably guess where your hatred is from, and I understand. Just know to never judge a book by the cover, the reviews of the customers. Learn to enjoy or hate it on your own account," I told her, and tried to sit up.
