Today, I decided to just take a break and rest.
The past few days were filled with different tasks for work and for the arrangements I was preparing for Bin's birthday.
I've reserved a place for us at this new golfing resort I found. The location was good because his parents could drive down to have a meal with us, plus the place guaranteed privacy for its guests. The golf course received good comments from people I knew so I know that Bin would enjoy his time. There were other amenities as well that we could occupy ourselves with should we decide to. I've settled on the villa we will be in, our menu and other special items we would need during our stay.
What I still needed to sort out was my gift.
Bin had everything he wanted and needed. If he didn't have it, he could just buy it. What could I get him then?
Out of ideas, I asked Hyo Jin to come over so she could help me go through potential items.
"How about this watch? He doesn't have this style," I suggested, showing her a photo of a Rolex I found on the web.
"It's nice," she said. "How would that stand out though? Doesn't he have so many expensive watches already?"
I nodded. "Yes, that was what I was thinking. I wanted to get him plane tickets so we could go somewhere but that's not a good idea at this time." I searched my phone for one other item I was looking at. "This camera? He still uses his old one and while he takes great photos with them, I was thinking maybe he'd like this too? What do you think?"
Hyo Jin went through the specifications of the gadget. "This is pretty good, Jin-ssi. I think he might like it. But, of course, you'd know better than me."
I smiled upon getting her approval. "I know but I still needed an opinion. Thank you, Sister."
"So, big birthday weekend, huh?" She asked in a teasing tone.
"What do you mean?"
Hyo Jin rolled her eyes. "It's his birthday weekend. You're going to go away, just the two of you..."
"So? We've done that numerous times," I said, pretending not to understand what she was getting at but the blush was creeping up my cheeks.
"Yes but this time you're officially together."
"So?"
"Oh, come on. Don't tell me you don't want to jump that man?"
I blushed harder. I did! But I wasn't going to tell her that. "Shush, Sister. Do you think I need to get him additional lenses for this camera?"
Hyo Jin rolled her eyes and dropped the subject, thankfully, but not before she got one more thing in. "You guys better not be recording your naughty moments on this camera."
"Hyo Jin!"
She laughed and then helped me search for other accessories that might be good to include when I present this to Bin.
Her teasing comments made me think about that aspect of our relationship.
Bin and I had known each other and been best friends for quite some time now, but we were still a relatively new couple. I am thankful for how things worked out because I noticed that there was very little misunderstanding between us. If there was something, we could talk about it and we already knew how to bring up things to each other. That said, being intimate was a different topic.
