Chapter 7: Girls Day Out

Katniss POV

When I wake up, I see an ecstatic Prim in my bedroom. "What are you doing in here?" I ask groggily.

"We're having our girls day, remember? Let's get it started!" she says excitedly.

I check the clock on the other side of my bed. "It's only 8:45. Why do you want to start now?" I'm sort of awake at this point, but I'm still kind of tired.

"It's either now or never," she says. I was about to tell her to go back to bed, but I guess now it's too late. She's already dressed and everything.

"Alright," I say, getting out of bed. "We'll go as soon as I get ready, ok?"

"Ok!" she says, then prancing out of the room. I guess she's excited for our day to actually start.

As soon as she leaves, I go into the bathroom and prep myself. I put on nautural makeup and then decide what to wear. After looking through my closet for about 15 minutes, I pick out a white crop top with flowers on it, black high waisted shorts, and a regular pair of wedges. I put that on and then brush my teeth. I assume by now that Prim's anxious for me to hurry up. I finish, then grab my gold iPhone 5s and go downstairs.

When I walk downstairs, I see Prim waiting on me. "Did you have to wait long?" I asked.

"I just waited about 20 minutes. It wasn't that bad. I just played on my phone the whole time," she said.

"As my sincere apology, how about we go to Starbucks on the way there?" I suggested.

Prim jumped up and screamed, "Yes!" Regular white girl, I suppose. I'm also one too. Don't judge me.

Before we leave, we leave mom a note saying that we'll be gone for the majority of the day so she won't start to worry if we don't come back after a few hours.

After leaving the note, we jumped into my car, starting our fun day. We went to the nearest Starbucks near our house, getting what we usually got back home.

We run into the mall and with the so many stores in here, we can't even pick out what store we want to go into. That's the good thing about having a younger sister, you can actually do stuff with them.

The first store we go into is Barnes & Noble. I'm shocked because the ones I go into aren't two stories high! We wander around the store for what feels like 2 hours. But in reality, we only looked around for like 30 minutes. We spent another 10 minutes picking out the books we wanted. I paid for all of the books and then we decided what store we go into next.

Then, we decided to go into the PINK store. In there, I bought 2 new perfumes and lotions, and a sweatshirt. Prim just bought 2 perfumes.

It's already 12:30 and we're starting to get hungry. We stop at the food court and get some food from Taco Bell. We ate our food and talked for about 15 minutes.

We went into Forever 21 next. In there, I bought a couple of cute tank tops, shorts and a couple of crop tops. Prim bought shorts and tank tops.

We stay at the mall for another 3 hours. We went into Bath & Body Works, Charlotte Russe, Aeropostale, Rue21, and Maurice's.

I end up carrying half of the bags from the stores that we went into today. The majority of the bags that were carrying came from clothing stores. Even though we packed all of our clothes from home, we still got more. We're not spoiled or anything, we just love clothes.

The sun is starting to set when we get back. We put the bags with clothes that are ours and put them in our rooms. When I walk back down the stairs, I hear a beeping coming from the voicemail machine. It's from mom. It says that she'll be back later.

"So what should we do now?" Prim asks.

"Maybe we can order some pizza and watch a movie?" I suggest.

"That sounds great!" she responds.

We order a sausage pizza and put in the movie Pitch Perfect. The pizza comes and we watch the movie together.
