I woke up the muffled sound of vacuuming and fast paced Spanish being exchanged behind my thin, peeling hotel walls. I sat up, my body sweaty from the excessive amount of comforter that laid on me.

I managed to get up and I slowly walked to my bag to get a pair of jet black leggings. After my hand rustling around in the bag for a bit, I found them and changed.

After aimlessly walking around the crowded block I found a small bar. Knowing I wasn't 21- I walked right in. Immediately I was introduced to darkness. The lights were dimmed low- and it was empty.

! Making my way to the slick wooden bar, I hear a low voice that had an edge of amusement.

"Are you sure your 21?"

I looked to my right- blinded by a not bad looking guy. He was at least a head taller than me and had a strong scent of Axe clinging to his ripped form. He had a dirtied rag draped around his shoulder and he held a crystal clean glass.

"No." I replied feeling the heat rising through my neck.

"It's fine. Want a drink?"

Kind of shocked and pleased- I nodded feeling my shaky fingers making their way to my tangled hair all pushed over my right shoulder.

He eased himself around the counter- easily pouring the liquid and humming to himself.

After a quiet moment, he spun around and slid the glass in my direction. I grabbed it intensely then took a slow drink.

"What's your name?" He asked causally taking a swig then flashing his white teeth. They were the perfect kind of teeth you could find in a Crest commercial.

"Cass."

"Cass? Full name."

"Cassidy."

"I'm Shaun Scott."

"Oh...hi Shaun."

He leaned against the counter- his elbow a few centimeters from mine.

"Normally i dont do this- but there is something about you Sidy that caught my attention."

My whole body perked up after he spoke those words. Happiness surged through me.

"Cassidy, may i have your number?" He asked pulling out a notepad and pen from his worn jeans.

"Do you always have a notebook hand?" I joked. Shocked the words spilled of my mouth.

He laughed. "I got to take orders. I have a bad memory you know."

I nodded sheepishly.and wrote down the hotel and my room's number.

"Tis been pleasure!" He called to me as i walked confidentally out of the.bar.

And for the first time in awhile- I smiled.
