Communication And Realizations - OT7AUTHOR
Summary:
"You're an idiot."
"What?"
"Jimin-ssi, you're an idiot."
"What?" Why was Jungkook insulting him now?
"Why did you never tell me that you liked him also?"

===================================
It was coming early, Jimin could feel it in his bones. His heat was around the corner, and while that normally wasn't a problem, he had toys for a reason, the timing could have been a hell of a lot better. They were touring, suppressants had been illegal for the last decade because of the health risks and side effects, and while there were still ways to get them Jimin didn't want to risk his heart exploding or going infertile just so he wouldn't leak through his pants on the stage, and while he did manage to remember to bring his knotting dildo (the one that inflated in order to simulate an actual knot), he didn't want that. He wanted a real knot. A particular knot in fact. One attached to his band-mate. His leader. His long time friend of nearly a decade. The one and only Kim Namjoon himself.
For the last few months (four but yeah..he wasn't counting), the alpha had started to treat him a little differently. A little sweeter, more romantic if Jimin allowed himself to go there within his mind. Almost as if he was testing the waters into courting him. And while Jimin was down for that, completely and utterly, he knew that they were walking on a thin tightrope. Not only were they colleagues. They lived together. They were friends, more than friends, almost family. Their friends were not just Jimin's, but Jimin's and Namjoon's, so if it went bad then shit would hit the fan and they would all officially be screwed. Yeah, break-ups could be civil, but honestly, even then they weren't all the way pretty. So he understood why Namjoon was taking it slower than a snail's pace. There was a lot to unpack there. A lot to process and consider before just diving headfirst into what could make or break BTS. But, there was something else, something more important then all of that though, that made even Jimin hesitate to make a move despite how desperately he had wanted to for years.
Jungkook.
The youngest of their group, as well as baby omega.
The same omega who Jimin saw as his baby brother, his child in some ways despite only being two years apart, and the same omega who has had a massive crush on Namjoon, their leader and pack alpha from the beginning. It had never gone away. Not fully, sizzling before the forefront of the other's mind even if he didn't talk about it as much anymore. But Jimin could see it, especially after he presented a few years back, starting late at the age of twenty because of stress from their job and hectic lives filled with schedules, fame, and sasaengs.
Jungkook was in love with Namjoon, had been for years, and while he had never made a move himself, that didn't mean that the other didn't want to. Jimin knew just how much the younger loved the alpha, the same alpha that held onto his own heart, from cradling him in his arms as he cried his heart out from how much he wanted to be with him but fearing he didn't want him back. Which would be absurd, who wouldn't want to have Jungkook? Jungkook was amazing. He was talented, incredibly so to a scary level sometimes, intelligent, beautiful in a manly way as if he was sculpted from clay. Jimin had no doubt in his mind that if the younger would simply make a move, he would have the other easily.
For some reason though, Jungkook just never went for it. Never took his shot, and every time Jimin would ask why the other would simply refuse to tell him. It hurt to think about Namjoon being with Jungkook, Jimin couldn't deny that, but it hurt more to see the younger so heartbroken all the time when he could just be happy. Jimin would move on somehow, he knows that someday someone else will come along to make him happy, but... a selfish part of him can't help but wish that it could be him that could be with the alpha. From the looks of it, Namjoon seemed to be wanting him as well, but as long as Jungkook was as smitten as he was, there was no chance in hell that Jimin could make a move. Not when it would hurt the other. He could suffer, that was fine, but he wouldn't make the younger go through that. Not if he could help it.
