"Hi! Welcome to Moonlight cafe, and I'm guessing the usual?"
Moonlight cafe was a small business, all run by a sixteen year old boy. It was a normal day for Jai. Not too hot, not too cold. Nothing interesting really happened, he just did his same routine like he did any other day.
As he rang up the customer, he kept fantasizing about his future. What is he going to do in life? Will he get another job? Will he get married? Will anything new happen?
Will Moonlight cafe ever become big?
After a few minutes passed, the boy was still in his seat, spaced out. But I mean, it's normal for a day like this. A normal, boring day. He stared as the annoying air conditioner that was bringing cold air in the room.
"Ah-" A stranger would stumble into the cafe, almost tripping over. They would walk over to the counter, while reading the menu.
Jai would still stare at the floor.
As they decided what they wanted to order, they realized Jai wasn't paying attention, as his eyes didn't even blink. They didn't want to disturb him, although, it does sound a bit rude to not ring up their customer. "Uh, hello? Are you there?"
Jai flinched and sat up straight, embarrassed. "I'm sorry, ah, what would you like to order?"
As the stranger ordered and he gave them the coffee, the silence didn't break their stares. They stood by the counter looking into each other's eyes.
Who is this? Jai would wonder. He started to blush and feel anxious. She is so pretty.. wait. She? He? But it didn't matter. Jai never felt this way before. He felt all fuzzy and happy.
Is this love?
"Oh, I have to go soon-" The stranger quickly snatched their coffee. "It was nice being here!"
Jai flinched once more and had to think fast. Oh no- I don't want them to leave! Should I ask for their number? No- that's too early! But I can't just ignore them! Oh what do I do, what do I-
"Oh, and my name is Skyler! Hope we can meet again, cutie!~"
