Sunday morning, and Jai is scared to even open the cafe. After what happened, he didn't know if there would be some awkward tension between him and Skyler. He couldn't read anyones mind, although that would be very sad if Skyler did hate him. Nonetheless, he had to open it.
Jai's normal days are now gone, as now he spends his days worrying, daydreaming, and fantasizing. This is the new normal now, bringing this person into his life. Jai tries to brush it off and starts working.
Somewhere in the day, he sees a familiar looking person, not a customer but still familiar for some reason. Where has he seen this girl?
The familiar looking girl walks up to the counter holding a small box. "Hi, I'm not actually here to order anything, but I guess I'm a wingman." She realizes what she said. "Ah!- I worded that wrong. Forget what I said, just-" She hands out the box, which has these cute purple-frosting covered cupcakes in there.
Jai stood there, confused. "I... a gift?" He takes the box and sets it on the counter.
"Yeah, I'm Skylers friend, they uh, wanted to apologize to you." She awkwardly smiled. "They were too scared to give it to you so they asked me."
Skylers... friend? He thought back from the swimming pool incident. The brown haired girl, next to Skyler. "Oh, I remember you!"
"SO THIS IS THE GUY YOUR WERE TALKING ABOUT?!!"
"Wait, Skyler told you all about me?"
Her shoulders shot up in shock. "You remember that?! Oh haha- well- it was nice talking to you, uh, Jai? Who cares, I'm Charlie, goodbye!" Charlie said as she walked over to the door, then sprinting out.
Strange. He started to slowly open the gift, as the sweet smell of the cupcakes made him smile. Before taking a cupcake, he saw a small piece of paper on the side of the box. Jai took it out and started unfolding it. It was a note. It said...
Dear Jai,
im sorry for scaring you yesterday. i know i was the one who probably did it, because you looked at me before you went in the water. so i decided to make some cupcakes to apologize. although we havent really got to know each other well, we could maybe change that. i would really like to know you better, so i was wondering if... your free on tuesday? if so, lets meet at the new diner, and you dont have to wear anything flashy. if you cant come its fine- id just like it if you would come. it could be a friend date.
