Chapter 04

     After the kiss we shared Eli and I sat in his bed playing twenty questions. He wasn't as scary as I thought he would be, to be honest he was quite kind and caring.

"So how old are you?" I asked full of curiosity.

He grinned. "Well in human years I'm twenty but in vampire years I'm two hundred."

Gasping I was shocked. "Oh my god that's gross to be with such an old man." I giggled hysterically.

"Oh so you think I'm an old man I can't help vampires don't age but every ten years once we turn five." He replied smiling.

"Wow that's kind of cool." I commented. "So do vampires ever die naturally?"

"It's rare but it can happen." He started answering my question. "Usually we only die from hunters but my family and I take more than just a stake to the heart to kill us."

I nodded opening my mouth about to say something when a knock to the door echoed in my ears. Lilith opened the door with a grin on her face.

"Eli I know you're enjoying your time with Destiny but you should drink something." Lilith spoke simply.

Eli nodded before he looked at me. "I will be right back, stay here." He ordered.

"But I don't want to be alone." I whined grabbing his arm as he looked to me and his ocean blues turned blood red he licked his lips as he looked towards my neck. I consciously put my hand over my neck causing him to look into my eyes as someone cleared their throat waking us from our daze.

Lilith stood there with a wide smile across her face. "It's okay I already ate I can stay with her Eli."

Eli sighed before he nodded kissing my forehead then he proceeded to walk out of the room at vampire speed. "So how are things going so far?" Lilith questioned me.

I giggled. "Sounds crazy but I've already fallen in love with him."

"Of course you did you were made for him." Lilith laughed at my giddiness.

I smiled as I fell back into Eli's bed sighing. "It's just so weird to feel this happy."

Lilith laid down beside me. "You deserve all the happiness in the world." She assured me. "Eli will give you the world to make you smile because once you find your mate they're all that matters."

I was curious so I mentioned to Lilith, "Have you found your mate yet?"

She shook her head as it fell slightly. Seeing how upset I had made her I grabbed her into a hug and whispered calming things to her.

"You're going to make a great mother one day." She spoke.

I chuckled. "Not any time soon I hope."

The door then swung open revealing the handsome prince himself. I grinned as our eyes connected for the second time tonight. My heart skipped a couple beats as my cheeks flushed red. I could only see him the rest of the room was a blur to me as he sped up to be right in front of me. As he touched my face brushing my hair behind my ear the sparks exploded everywhere.

"Okay I'll leave you two love birds alone." I finally heard Lilith speak before she walked out of the door shutting it behind her leaving Eli and I staring at each other.

"You're so beautiful." His voice sounded like music to my ears.

"Th-tha-thank yo-you." I stuttered blushing dark red at his words.

"You're even more beautiful when you blush." He commented making me turn my head down towards the floor as he then grabbed my chin making me keep eye contact. The sparks continued to shoot throughout my body.

He led me towards the bed as he hovered over my body just watching my every move. His eyes were farting back and forth between my eyes, my lips, and my... neck.

I slapped my hand over my neck which caused him to smirk towards me.

"You smell so good, but I'm not going to harm you." He muttered. "Unless you would want me to."

I shook my head. "No I'm good thank you though."

He chuckled at my sheepish ways. "Are you hungry?"

"N-n-no." But my stomach betrayed me with a growl of its own.

He smiled and helped me off the bed leading us towards the exit. "Come on we will get you something to eat."

"But I'm not like you I eat real food." I stated.

Again laughing at me he expressed. "We eat too just in order to keep our strength we need blood."

I gulped. "Where do you get your blood?"

He smiled staring at me with a shaken look on my face. "We have a blood bank where humans donate their blood but it actually comes to us and not hospitals."

I nodded my head understanding not feeling so afraid anymore. "How do they not know?"

"We have secret people who help us just unfortunately if they betray us we have to kill them." He stated as he continued. "Unless we can persuade Jezebel to erase their memory."

"Oh so that's her power?" I questioned assuming since he mentioned her.

"Yes she has the power to erase your memory." He answered me seriously.

After a long walk we finically reached the kitchen where a vampire was standing at the oven making something that smelt so delicious. The vampire turned around and stared at me before blinking their eyes and turning towards Eli.

"Are you hungry your highness?" He asked.

Eli nodded as he pulled out a chair for me to sit in, as I sat he pushed the chair in and sat in front of me waiting for the food.

As the vampire cooking finished up he brought two plates over to the table and sat one in front of me and one in front of Eli. It was Chicken Marsala which made me raise my eyebrows towards Eli.

"What's wrong?" He asked worried.

"Nothing I just thought vampires couldn't be around garlic." I stated sinking low in my seat embarrassed that I didn't know everything.

He chuckled which sounded so magical it caused my stomach to do jumps. "That's a myth garlic does nothing to us but make our breath smell bad."

I smiled sheepishly embarrassed that I listen to myths instead of asking someone who would know.

We sat in silence as we finished our meal just enjoying the peace we were at together. When we finished eating he pulled out my chair and intertwined our hands as he lead me back to his room.

"Ready for bed?" He asked watching me intensely.

I yawned as I replied. "Yes, where am I sleeping?"

"With me of course." He laughed like it was obvious.

I became extremely shy and quiet as we made our way to his room opening his door and gesturing for me to enter first. I walked in and sat on his bed as he grabbed a shirt and handed to me.

"Thank you." I said sincerely.

"You're welcome." He spoke softly as he pulled his shirt off and moved the covers for us to climb in. I got off the bed and walked towards the bathroom before he started objecting. "Hey you could just change right here I mean we were made for each other."

I shook my head and continued into the bathroom, once I finished I walked out folded my clothes and laid them on the couch as I climbed in the bed beside Eli. Before letting the dark take me into a peaceful sleep I heard Eli whisper. "I love you my queen." Then the my eyes closed and I slipped off into a wonderful slumber.
