Chat Noir always took the hits for Ladybug during their akuma battles. She never got hit. Or, at least, that's what he thought.
She had taken numerous hits time and time again. If Chat knew... well, he wouldn't be very happy with her. He felt that...
It was Thursday, one day before the massive class trip to the beach. Marinette was up at five in the morning, and was thinking out on her balcony until she decided she would get ready and be at school early for once. Marinette slid on a pair of dark blue jeans and grabbed a spring green halter top, sliding it over her head. Marinette felt different today, she felt stronger since she confessed her love of Chat Noir to Alya. Marinette felt confident for once in her civilian form, like she could do anything. That's why today, she was gonna switch it up a little bit.
She pulled her soft dark hair into a cute messy bun that sat perfectly on top of her head, shaping her face in a way. Marinette slipped on a long black cardigan to complete her secret Chat Noir look of the day and now just had to pick the perfect pair of shoes and some matching green ribbon for her hair. She looked at her collection of shoes. She had her normal pink flats and a pair of white ones, she owned a white pair of sneakers for athletics and some old worn down converse that hadn't been touched in over a year. She owned four pairs of cheap flip flops for slip on shoes and one pair of black strappy sandals. She shook her head, none of these options would do it, she was going out feeling good and she had to look stylish while doing so.
That's when a light bulb went off, a few months ago, her parents got her some limited edition Gabriel Agreste branded black heeled platforms. There were only six thousand pairs ever made and her parents had noticed Marinette's liking in them. Marinette remembered the crazy story her parents told her when they came home with a pair of five thousand dollar shoes. Gabriel had heard from 'someone' that they were trying to purchase the shoes for Marinette and that's when her parents received a phone call from Gabriel himself asking to meet him for lunch the next day at his manor, the day before the shoes released to the public. They were confused by the request of a fashion lord like Gabriel Agreste wanted to talk with them and didn't know why, but they agreed nonetheless. At the end of their lunch, many words exchanged despite what Marinette told her parents about his strange lack of response to most things. Gabriel had excused himself from the office and had inconspicuously brought back a rather large and beautiful Agreste branded box. He sat next to Tom and Sabine, the box sat in front of him, the silver accents shining from the lights above.
"You're probably curious to the actual reason I have invited for lunch." Gabriel's normal look softened and he continued on. Marinette's parents knew it was nothing bad, after all, this was Marinette's role model and Marinette had helped Gabriel on occasions before, so they knew the man somewhat and he obviously wasn't tense or upset.
"I heard you daughter, Miss Marinette, was interested in my newest shoe design. From personal experience, I also know she she is extremely smart and quite amazing at when is come to designing and making clothes. Mr. and Mrs. Dupain Cheng, I have an offer for you." Her parents looked at each other, wonder and curiousity in their eyes, awaiting his offer.
Gabriel opened the box, revealing the beautiful Gabriel Agreste branded heels. Marinette's mother gasped at the sight of them. They were made with the most beautiful and shiny black leather, there was a thin ankle strap with real diamonds across the strap, there was three other thinner straps that crossed over each other and went across the foot to hold it in place that was decorated with more shiny diamonds. On the outside of both shoes, there was Gabriel Agreste's logo, shimmering in it's glory, to match the shoes, the logo was hand sewn into the platform part of the heel with beautiful light shimmery thread, silver like the box.
Gabriel smiled, "I even signed them myself for her." He grabbed one and turned it upside down, on the part of the heel known as the shank, his name was sighed in silver like his logo. Gabriel set it carfully back in the sturdy box it came in.
"Now, I will let you take these home to your talented daughter on one condition." Gabriel left his words hanging in the air as the Dupain Chengs basically vibrated in their seats.
"When your daughter turns eighteen, I would like her to join me in a partnership at my company. I have never seen talent like her's an would be honored to incorporate her into our business. I've actually had my thought of her taking over my company once I'm through with it. My son knows nothing about fashion and your daughter could incorporate so many new things to this company. Don't let her in on that part just yet though." Marinette's parents agreed to the proposal and walked out of the Agreste mansion with Marinette's birthday present and her set up for life. That was a five months ago and her 18th birthday was in two months, but none of them ever figured how Gabriel found out about Marinette wanting them in the first place.
Marinette looked at herself in her full length mirror, deciding she needed some big silver hoops, and her silver necklace with the Agreste logo on it, another gift to Marinette when she helped Gabriel complete a design for one of his fashion lines. The necklace was probably worth the equivalent or more than her shoes. The necklace was a one of kind, made just for Marinette. It even had her name engraved on the back, she never wore it because of how expensive it was and honestly she didn't even think anyone knew about her shoes or necklace, but today, she just wanted to strut her stuff. Marinette touched up her light makeup, something she never wore, and look one more glance at herself.
"Damn Tikki, I look good. Let's go." Marinette pumped her fist up in the air.
"Oh Marinette! You look so stunning!" Marinette blushed and thanked her quietly. Tikki zoomed into her purse, which was a black version of her usual purse.
Marinette smirked as she gabbed her bag and headed down the stairs.
'I like confident Mariette.'Tikki knew that her Ladybug persona and her civilian self would soon blend. And she was so happy it finally did. She was proud if Marinette.
