Chapter 17

The party still went on in full swing.

Touka and S/N already changed back into their normal clothing, and are walking around the hall to greet everyone.

Everyone cheered for the newly wedded couple, especially Yomo.

"Looks like the uncle knows how to party after all," Naki commented.

Nishiki and I snorted.

Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, except Kaneki.

He seemed to be in some kind of daze.

I turned to him with a worried expression.

"Hey," I said, "What's wrong?"

Kaneki shook his head before plastering a smile on his face.

"Nothing," he said, "I was just thinking."

I raised an eyebrow.

"You can tell me anything, you know."

He sighed before coming closer.

"Something feels off," he said lowering his voice, "It's like we're being watched."

Before I could answer, we were suddenly surrounded by the Oggai squad.

And in the middle of them all stood Mutsuki Toori, eyes fixed on Kaneki and I.

He smirked darkly.

"Sensei~L/N-san~"

With that, they swooped down and started their operation.

All of the guests began panicking and started running frantically to get away. Some of them survived, but the unlucky ones weren't.

Kaneki quickly turned towards me.

"We should split up, we'll cover more Oggai that way," he said, "I'm going to help S/N."

He was about to run off when I called out to him.

"Ken!"

He whirled his head towards me with a questioning look.

"Just..." I muttered, "Just don't die."

Kaneki smiled.

"Of course."

And with that, he quickly ran,

Hinami led the kids to the exit, but one of the kids accidentally tripped over a debris.

Before an Oggai could get to him, Naki quickly jumped and kicked the Oggai on the face.

"Come on! Run, kid!"

The kid stood up and ran as fast as he can, while Miza joined in.

Not long after however, the other members of the Oggai Squad managed to catch up to the kids.

Hinami protectively stood in front of them, and quickly released her kagune to kill them.

One of them managed to avoid it and was about to land a killing blow when Touka kicked their head.

"Touka-nee!"

"Get the kids out of here!" Touka yelled.

"But-"

"Enough, hurry!"

Hinami reluctantly grabbed the kids and ran as fast as she could.

Suddenly, Mutsuki came into view.

"You, huh?" Touka spat.

Mutsuki held his knives in an offensive matter.

"You're going to die here."
