"Good evening everyone, I'm so glad to see all of you here tonight," Elena spoke into the microphone. "I had originally planned to just perform my last album, but after a lot of thinking, I've decided to do one of the songs I've been recently working on and you all should feel lucky since this specific song won't be released anytime soon," she laughed with the crowd before she took a seat on the piano that was placed at the front of the stage.
"This song goes out to my sister, Erilian Matthews, I hope you all enjoy it." she took a deep breath and her fingers started to gently run down the tiles in a steady, yet captivating melody. Erilian leaned forward in her seat once Elena started to sing, eager to listen.
"The road wasn't that easy
and it's my fault I got lost
chasing the things I adore
missing the things I love most
and I dont have anything
to pay for what I've done wrong
except for a word of regret
except for a piece of a song."
A steady drumbeat rolled in followed by guitars. Andrea leaned on Jason as he wrapped her arms around her, leaning his head on hers as they both smiled. Erilian was sitting at the edge of her seat while she squeezed Cole's hand. Her whole face lit up and Cole couldn't help but stare.
"Holding my mouth when I talk
I'm breathing yet I crave the air
wonder why it took so long
to find the right things to say
and put them into a song
trapped in this world of mine
too far away to hold your hand
but I know I'm coming back
and I hope you'll understand."
The song suddenly picked up speed. Erilian had tears building in her eyes when Cole pulled her into his arms. Lucas was watching with a content smile as Elena poured out all the emotions she felt while she wrote the song. The room was hypnotized as they watched the raven-haired girl do what she was best at, captivating a crowd with her voice.
"I never thought I'd be blinded
by the gap between the times
and now I lost the courage,
to clean all the other lies
all the excuses I made,
and all the promises I broke
haunting my mind when I think.
I never meant to turn my back
but life is too hard these days
I've been trying to come back
I've been looking for the ways.
The road wasn't that easy
and it's my fault I got lost
chasing the things I adore
missing the things I love most
and I dont have anything
to pay for what I've done wrong
except for a word of regret
