Chapter 8: Banquet Hall

Today was the day of the event. Companies around the world coming together in one place. It was about to be one hell of an event. Sammy was getting herself ready in her room. She bathed with rose pedals and candles around her tub. Meanwhile Joon and Clarissa accompanied his parents to the Banquet Hall ahead of time because they wanted to make sure everything was in place. They got there 3 hours before the event began. Joon made sure that the reservations were set. Clarissa went with miss Kim to check the menu. Mr. Kim had his staff meeting to let everyone know that it had to go perfectly well for his image. Important companies were coming so he had to make sure that there wouldn't be any mistakes. Everyone understood his expectations. Time passed and the event was about to begin. Everything was set and now they waited for the guests to arrive.

The event began and now the entire banquet hall was filled with guests. The music was mellow and the waiters served champagne and catering served food. It was going very well. Others were socializing and walking around the hall. It was very elegant that the place resembled the ball scene from The Great Gatsby. It was beautiful as the chandelier crystals shined from above . Everyone was having a great evening. Sammy was ready to arrive at the scene. She had limousine take her to the banquet hall. She was nervous because she's never been a part of a huge event such as this one. She doesn't know why but she felt really nervous. She felt butterflies in her tummy. Maybe it's because she felt like she didn't belong in those types of event. She had to pull herself together. The limousine arrived to its destination. It was showtime. The doors opened and she walked in. The entire world was in shock to see such a beautiful stunning woman. Everyone turned and starred at her. The attention was on her now. She didn't know what to do. She stood there for a second but then went to sit with her co workers. She embraced the attention she was getting. Joon was mesmerized by her beauty. He wanted to go kiss her. Everyone kept starring at her till she went to sit down. Even at the table they were starring. Someone quickly caught her attention but she didn't notice who it was. Catering continued to serve and the music continued to played.
A gentleman approached her and asked to have a word with her. Joon noticed and clenched his jaw. He didn't want anyone near her but he was with his wife and his parents. The gentleman asked her if she was a model. She told him she was simply a house maid. He was in disbelief because she was stunning. He asked her if she would be willing to become a model for his clothing line but she couldn't accept the offer. She already worked for the Kim family. He gave her a card in case she changed her mind. Several other businessmen and women approached her and asked her the same thing. She gets up and walks over to get some punch. Someone tapped her shoulder. She turned around. It was Shownu. She was taken by surprise. They hugged and she asked what he was doing there. He was invited to the event. He owned BBC industries. Sammy was shocked. He never told her that he was an important businessman. It didn't matter because he just wanted a friend. He complimented her and she blushed. Joon was fuming with anger watching him make her giggle. He gets up and goes to get some punch as well. He interrupted their conversation. Sammy noticed that he was bugged about her talking to Shownu. He asked kindly who he was and asks about his whereabouts. Shownu responded politely and told him that he and Sammy already knew each other. Joon realizes that he is the friend that she's been hanging out with. He tells him to back off because he knew what his real intentions were with Sammy. Shownu didn't understand why if Joon was married and he didn't have to care who she was talking to. Sammy gets in the way... she could feel the tension between both men. Shownu asked her if she'd want to dance with him later on. She accepted and Joon stayed there in shock. One of Shownu's colleagues approached him. They had something to talk about so he leaves to his table and excuses himself from Sammy but still wanted that dance.
Joon and Sammy were still by the fruit punch table. Sammy told him not to be rude. He was just saying what was obvious. He couldn't believe that she accepted to dance with him. She wanted to because Joon would be dancing with Clarissa later on. He couldn't stand it. He was boiling with jealousy. She tells him not to worry and she'll make sure to have a great time with Shownu. He was angry with the words that came out of her mouth. She gave him a taste of his own medicine. She doesn't even do that with Clarissa. She would make sure to get him even more jealous so he could see how she feels when Clarissa is next to him. He tried grabbing Sammy's arm but she didn't let him. Instead she walked away leaving him there. She went back to sit on her table. A little time passed and some guests were on the dance floor. The music was mellow so everyone danced with their partners. Sammy was upset with Joon for the way he was acting. He went and danced with Clarissa. He was holding her waist and her arms wrapped around his neck. He was staring at her to get a reaction. She ignored them and looked away. Shownu then approached her and asked to dance with him. She gladly took the offer. He held her close to him and held her hand close to his chest. They danced away to the music. Shownu asked if she was okay. She seemed upset. He asked her if Joon was the man that was in her life. She told him the truth. It was him. He now understood his behavior. He looked and Joon was starring at them. He told Sammy not to look up. He told her not to worry and everything would be okay..
