                                                                     CHAPTER 1

Jasper Hutson watched the party in full swing from the balcony on the third floor. He grinned at the drunk dancers that blurred together in a messy fashion He loved the taste of the mingling perfumes on his tongue. "So I've started cross dressing and I'm sleeping with your mom just thought you should know..." Jasper cocked an eyebrow and turned to his friend who didn't seem to notice and continued striving for his attention. "We're running away together and there's gonna be a honeymoon in California, you're welcome to come just don't think you'd want to with all the fuc-" "JOSH!"  Josh stopped his babbling and smirked at Jasper. "See what I have to go through to get your attention?" Josh growled but Jasper just returned his easy gaze to the crowd of teenagers below. He shook his head. He didn't know half these people. Josh's steady stare became worried. "I'm not really sleeping with your mom, not that your mom isn't a very attractive woman especially for her age. Not that I mean your mom is ol-"

"Just shut up man." Jasper smirked at Josh one more time before plunging into the thick crowd of partyers and trying to make his way to his room. He didn't even need to turn the lights on. Even with the drunks on the floor and the lovers making out in the corners, he still knew his way around the house. He opened the door to his room to find two teens going at it. "You have two minutes to get your clothes on and get the hell out of my room before I drag you out in your underwear." He said this in a calm voice, but a growl at the end made sure that they knew he meant business. He slammed the door behind him to wait for the two horny teenagers to leave so he could maybe call Ashelyn, talk to her about last night. He observed the party again. With a close up view, he could see the dancers grinding up against one another on the dance floor. The pounding music even more intoxicating than the booze itself. He had carefully planned out the party like all others he threw, even added strobe lights for good measure. He just wanted everyone to get drunk, including himself. But he found himself stopping every time before downing the shot glass he held in his hands. He would frown and carefully set it aside. Just one shot, that's all he would need to forget.

It doesn't take much to get a shifter drunk. Espicialley an alpha. And Jasper really wanted to get drunk.

A boy broke from the crowd. Not a teenager, not an adult. A little boy. He had the signature looks of a bloodsucker. His face was cool and enchanting. He scanned the crowd until his heavy eyes found Jasper. He walked straight up to the alpha's son and tugged on his pant leg. "My teacher would like to see you." He said innocently. Jasper frowned, his eyebrows furrowing. He knew the boy. That stupid bloodsucker Luke's apprentice. Vampires often have apprentices, someone to teach their ways to. When Jasper didn't follow the boy immediately, he frowned. "Now please." The little boy said sternly, crossing his arms to his chest. Jasper looked down at the kid again. His pack, The Bloodline Pack had recently made peace with the nearest vampire clan, The Sunstone Clan. Lead by the devil himself, Luke Sunstone. Jasper sighed and took the little apprentice's eager hand. Just because he was at peace with the leeches, doesn't mean he had to like them.

Luke Sunstone heard the mutt approach before he even knocked on the big oak door. Aidan, his apprentice, led the famous ruggedly handsome Jasper Hutson into the fancy office room. Luke poured himself and Jasper a drink. Letting the oily amber swirls float in the bourbon. He handed Jasper the drink, not bothering to ask. He looked like he needed it. He took a deep breathe. Reminding himself that he needed to get on Di Immortalis' good side, even if it meant becoming friends with the mangy mutt. He couldn't know a thing about the beautiful and powerful golden eyed girl.

Jasper eyed Luke's tattoos, marking that his vampiric nature. Two stars on his neck. Like a message. Insert fangs here please. "Is there a reason you pulled me away from my own party, I was having an awfully good time." He said, his eyes still trained on the bloodsucker's marks. He quickly glanced down at his own mark, a pattern of swirling lines on the inside of his wrists, as if to make sure it was still there. After all, these marks were a source of pride in the supernatural community. A warning sign. A message that screamed, Hi, I could transform into a freaking wolf whenever I want to, just thought you should know.

It was awhile obscured in smoky silence before Luke answered. Almost nervously. "There is going to be a new student attending your school tomorrow, please, as a favor to me welcome her with open arms her mother is a close friend of mine and I don't need you and your pack screwing this up for me." He gulped loudly and sent a scared glance to the door, as if the boogeyman himself would be bursting through any moment now. But Luke wouldn't be scared of the boogeyman, he would probably just drain him dry before dumping him in the nearest river. So what the hell is behind that door? Jasper contemplated this carefully. Something was defiantly wrong here. "Is that all? She's human right?" Luke nodded, unable to force the lie out. But Jasper saw a flash of something. Regret? Condolences? "Actually, I was wondering if she could stay with you." Luke's eyes flashed again, but this time in clear warning.

Jasper sighed and stuffed his hands in the pocket of his leather jacket.

"Where do I pick her up?"
