TW: SELF HARM

Once the Chairman pulled off the cloth, only half of your anxiety dissipated.

You were not pinned up against any of your friends, but you were facing a very strong opponent, Gittaracker

Deciding to look on the bright side, you smiled knowing that you wouldn't have to fight one of your friends.

On the other hand, you were fighting Gittaracker, who was a strong opponent with unknown abilities.

You also had the slightest feeling that he was hiding something, something big. He doesn't seem the type to get a Hunters License for the fun of it.

Anyway, you decided to tune out the rest of the conversation and focus on finding a strategy to beat your opponent.

You chose to not show your nen ability unless you absolutely had to, only because you didn't want people to know how powerful you were.

No matter who you're referring to, everybody yearns for power. It can turn the most honest man into a greedy one. You hadn't met one person who didn't crave power. You yourself craved power.

That being said, it doesn't mean that everyone is greed driven. A person could crave power for themselves, and work honestly to gain it. On the contrary, a person could wish for power and take it mercilessly.

Personally, you didn't want someone seeing your power for the sole reason that you knew you would eventually have to kill them, and you never enjoyed killing for a reason as pitiful as that.

After figuring out what you would attempt, you turned to watch the first fight. Gon against Hanzo.

You looked at Gon sympathetically. 'Gon may have more talent, but Hanzo has way more experience. I hope Hanzo goes easy on the kid.' Wait, what were you thinking?

"Woooo! Get him Gon!" you yelled from the side.

"Yeah you got this buddy!" Leorio yelled from beside you, turning to you and giving you a friendly wink and thumbs up.

Smiling, you kept on cheering.

You saw the determination in his eyes as the referee stepped back and said,

"Now, time to start."

Both Gon and Hanzo stepped back and got into a fighting position.

The ref raised his arms, "Begin!" he yelled, throwing his arms down dramatically.

Gon used his speed and sprinted away from Hanzo, looking to keep distance from him. A smart move, if his opponent was slow. Hanzo was beside him in an instant.

You couldn't quite hear what Hanzo said to Gon, but an acidic feeling boiled in your throat as he chopped Gon in a pressure point in his neck, basically paralyzing him.

"Don't give up kid!" Leorio yelled from beside you.

For some reason, Gon getting taken down so quickly hurt to see.

The kid always seemed so untouchable to you, always so full of hope and strength that nothing could hurt him. And yet, there he was, lying on the ground, inevitably about to get tortured to give up.

More vile raised in your throat as you knew how long this was going to go on for. You knew that if there was one thing Gon wouldn't do, it would be to give up.

The fight ended up going on for too long.

Hanzo punched him, kicked him, pressure pointed him, in any attempt to get Gon to give up without knocking him out for three hours straight.
