It started with a whisper, the wind combing soothingly through my hair. The cool autumn breeze held many voices but it felt like something was trying to tell me something. I halted my steps, swiftly turning to scan the many faces surrounding me. Which proves to be a nuisance in New York City. My body and mind were in full alert synchrony. My green eyes narrowed as I felt the eyes of a person watching me. I was trained to identify something like this, so I paused for a mere second and pretended to search for something in my bag. That was when I knew for sure that I was being monitored meticulously by more than one person.
The wind picked up speed and a harsh whisp of wind, blew my hair catastrophically over my face. I hurried to remove the thousands of luscious black tendrils as something felt unsettling in my stomach. It was times like these that I thanked Vineiro for training me. He always told me I needed to prepare. I never knew why I needed it so much of it but it became my insurance and assurance. Knowing how to defend yourself physically and mentally is something I will always be grateful for. I saw nothing, but I felt it. That and the hundreds of people bumping in to me, a tattletale to move along.

I looked at the place that became a second home to me from one block away. The marvellous golden and silver lights shimmered brilliantly. No doubt the brightest and tallest building in this area. The initials S.S Terelli glowed proudly making the entire empire building astonishingly mesmerizing. Time waits for no man it seems indeed. It has been two years since I began working there and two and a half years knowing my boss- Stavros Terelli. I released an involuntary sigh as I pondered.
Bluntest person I know.
I still remembered when we first met- which is the most unorthodox encounter in my life. One thing I learnt, was that I never wanted to meet him again after that. It was ironic how it was a late work night like this, but at that time I wasn't so prepared but rather defenceless. My car broke down in an area where many would think is safe, but on the contrary it wasn't. Unbeknownst to me, I was in the most deadliest residential area in the United States of America. It has been said that only members, associates or relatives of an elite mafia could live there. So why did my manager think that it would be okay to demand my naive arse to pick his drunk ass up? Apparently, he was at our CEO's house and needed a ride home. To this date, I still don't understand why couldn't our filthy rich CEO, get a chauffeur to drop his overbearingly obnoxious ass home.
Bloody pess
I still recalled how two men appeared out of somewhere and approached me carefully. The biggest mistake of my life was leaving my cellphone in the vehicle.
"You are on private property. You have a minute to leave safely and unharmed." The taller man commanded loudly. The echo of his voice added to the chilling effect.
"Sure, but I'm having some car trouble. Look let me just get my phone, so I can call for he-." I
was trying to retrieve my cell phone through my car window but before I knew what was happening, one shot was fired. At least that's what I could recall in my petrified state.Did I state that I crouched like a petrified child hanging on to I don't even remember what for dear life? Not a moment I like to recall.
A moment passed, and I wondered gratefully why I was still alive. Then, I saw him. He was dangerously handsome, that's all my poodle brain could think at the time. His voice was frightening deep and it made my heart leap from my chest. So there were now three of them.
"Non farlo mai più."
"Never do what again?" My tongue spoke as a command from my mind while my heart felt like it was jumping off a cliff. Clearly indicating- 'you're going to die putanna.'
