With blue-violet marks on her skin
Holding herself tightly akin
To her throbbing heart
That had enough
She said, "It's fine."
Spent her days to pine
Withholding tears to show
Cause nobody ought to know
She said, "It hurts."
In the darkness that lurks
Her eyes puffy and red
With a soul no one can mend
She said, "I've had enough."
When the lightning striked her skin
Forcing her to succumb to him
To yield against every command
Finally, she had a voice
Started struggling to his hold
Saying everything he did to her
But he only pulled her hair
And hid in the shadows
The next morning
Nobody knew where she was
The man hasn't come back
Nor asked whereabouts of the wife
Nobody knew
Except him who slew
For deep within the woods
The body naked under the sun
With blood draping like a coat
Freed from the chains of life
