Chapter Eleven | That's What I Call A Revamp
You know sometimes they say just one step, one word or one decision, could change the hell out of your life completely? This time, only one naughty, snarky thought did.
With a shaky, unplanned plan in mind, I marched into the perpetually filled hallways with only my mischievous subconscious as a support.
As my heels clicked and my wound up dress shifted intermittently with the rolling of my hips on the ground beneath me, all the attention came to me.
You know, I could almost say I'm used to being the centre of attention but hell, not in that way at all. And by that, I mean not in the head turning way.
All my eager, newly confident, excited Hazel eyes caught was a unexpected party of jaws dropping from their owners, assorted colours of eyes boring into me.
My heart thumped heavily. Not in panic but in a anxious, curious way. Since they all seemed to loathe me before now, I could always tell everything they were thinking but now, as I held my backpack steathly, I had no idea what was running through their minds.
Think about how happy you'd be when you finally pull this off, think about how happy that blonde head would be—
The choker I was wearing and my heels that were not healthy considering my level of anxiety are not exactly helping matters.
This might be the breakthrough you've always craved! No one can stop you now, You've got this! My subconscious patted me on the back.
The kids who were moving to their classes stopped at the sight of me and joined the crowd of assholes in Maple Hills that have made me miserable for as long as I could remember and now, I'm going to pay them back in their own dollar. Yeah dollar, not coin!
All the hues of their eyes gleamed with with astonishment and shock and I could see a teeny little bit of expectation among the lot as they all waited to see what comes out of the mouth of this geek turn chick overnight.
Some of them were now recovering from the shock and the gasps had died down. I could feel eyes running over my body, sizing the new me up.
Humming softly, I located the point at which I tripped on that Godsent ballpen. Staring down at the cold, lifeless tiles, It seemed like a long time ago when I got pulled up by Haze.
Slowly, I twirled on my heels and raised an eyebrow at the reeling, slowly forming crowd that were glaring and whispering among themselves softly.
Now the big hall was pin-drop silent and I'm sure if I shifted my weight to one of my feet, the rapping of my heels will surely send echoes through the hallways.
"What a crowd!" I chuckled in fake amusement, dusting off imaginary glitter from the nape of my neck and flipping my long hair confidently, intently giving them the show of their lives that I never knew I had in me. Well, until now.
Oh, how I love reveling in my own perfection!
"You know, you guys sound like swarming bees and it makes my hear bleed. Instead of staring at me like morons, you could just take pictures, I'm certain that they'll last longer and hey! If it looks like I still give a damn about what y'all think about me like I used to, please tell me, I wouldn't want to give a wrong impression."
I tisked and rolled my eyes, stalking casually away from their sights and towards my blue metal locker, ignoring their banterous outbursts of 'oohs' and 'aahs'.
Few minutes later, I was done picking up all my binders and was making my way to my English class when I caught the sight of Isela banging her boot clad legs against her locker to shut it. Trying not to burst in into giggles over her malfunctioning locker, I approached her.
