Chapter Nine | Utopia.
I froze to the spot, taking cognisance of what my eyes were seeing. There was another girl sitting next to him on the settee and Haze had her petite hands in his grasp just the way he had mine a while ago. I instantly felt a throe of envy hit me right in the centre of heart and then everything paused.
Did I just say envy? I certainly didn't mean that. Or maybe I did. Alright! I feel jealous that he brought another girl here whilst he was with me and well, some other kind of jealousy that i wasn't ready to acknowledge at the moment.
Maybe she doesn't mean anything to him, but the way they're looking at each other makes that thought futile. Who is she and why exactly does she look so hot?
Sighing, I walked timidly up to them, my shoes sending soft clicks to the tiled floor as I walked. I'm sure my heavily thudding heart plus that, must be what grabbed their attention.
I thought my heart would finally crack open when Haze tore his gaze from her and looked towards me. The amusement that once threatened on his eyes and lips disappeared like a swerve of smoke and was replaced by a dislocated jaw and a widened eyes.
I really wish I knew what he was thinking. I felt an heavy gaze on me, making me turn to the side to meet the narrowing eyes of the mystery girl that made a chill run down my spine.
"Hey," I smiled nervously as I got closer to them. Haze's icy gaze trailed over my body and I felt a little bit uncomfortable. He quickly recovered and let out a sheepish grin before standing up and pulling the girl up with him. She seemed to be expertly trying to figure me out just like I was her which made me feel so small and intimidated.
I didn't really realize how pretty she was until now that we were standing directly in front of each other. She looked perfect from head to toe.
My eyes slowly traced the hints of her tiny freckles that was almost perfectly concealed with a simple makeup but even from miles away, your attention had to come to her shimmering red lipstick.
She stood tall and too slim with never ending Secret circus Jean covered legs and even with my overly high heels, I barely managed to be the same height with her.
Her silky shoulder length brown hair was styled to perfection and she looked older and totally more sophisticated. Next to her, Mauve probably looked like a scrawny grunge. But well, It's no surprise that Haze hangs out with models.
"Zara, this is Ali my sister, she just flew in from England for her friend's birthday. Ali this is Zara my friend," Haze finally acknowledged me and my shoulders slumped in relief.
Sister! Why didn't I think of that earlier? I mean, only Haze's sister could manage to look like something out of a fashion magazine. They looked pretty alike but I guess I was too envious to see that earlier. Both intimidatingly tall, the same icy blue orbs, the pointed nose...
"Oh, don't mind him," Haze's sister scoffed. "I hate that nickname. I'm Alissianna Mackenzie Valenté," She corrected in a very firm tone and Haze rolled his eyes. I couldn't possibly miss her thick British accent. Why is she so formal and prim and proper?
"Nice to meet you," I smiled and she just rolled her eyes and continued to glare at me, gently tugging at the end of her definitely expensive orange blazer. Why is she being such a bitch?
"Does Mauve know you're messing around and gallivanting around town with this thing?" Ali waved a finger in my face before she turned to look up at her slightly taller younger brother.
Haze opened his mouth to say something I'm pretty sure is in my defence but I cut in before he could continue, surprising myself and the two siblings watching me closely.
