1.1 | "Hello, Little One."

Sheng Yi floats in a sea of worlds. He flies by each world one by one. Carefully selecting a world he hasn't been to before.

For a long time, Sheng Yi did the same thing over and over again, but he didn't get bored. There was always something different happening even though it may be similar.

"Ah! Found one! This person... He's similar to me and has an honest wish." Sheng Yi goes over to the soul and gives a gentle tap.

The soul transforms into a beautiful ancient man with long black hair. His eyes are particularly unusual for this era. One of his eye is red and the other is blue.

"You are?" (Soul)

"My name is Sheng Yi. Would you like me to grant your wish in exchange for your life?" (Sheng Yi)

The man looks at Sheng Yi with deep understanding. He takes a glance at his surroundings and nods.

"Yes." (Soul)

"I'll take your life then. But first I'll send you to reincarnate." (Sheng Yi)

The man nods again. Sheng Yi lifts up his finger and taps the man's forehead. He extracts the memories and sends the man on his way.

When Sheng Yi said he would take the man's life, he didn't mean it in the terrifying way most people think. Sheng Yi isn't someone evil that absorbs souls to become stronger. He's already strong!

Taking a life, to Sheng Yi's meaning is to take the soul's current lifetime they were living. That means their memories of this life and their body will be Sheng Yi's in exchange for a wish.

If a person desires a wish strong enough to think they'll give up their life which is their soul and agrees to it... Sheng Yi thinks that's enough to tell how genuine they feel about their wish.

Right now Sheng Yi has finish absorbing the memories and is sending his spirit to the body. When he arrives to the world, a weird sound rings in his mind.

[Welcome Host! This is System 04. I'll be helping you throughout your journey of going through worlds!]

Seeing the cute fluffy fur ball floating in front of him, Sheng Yi couldn't help giving a gentle smile.

"Hello, Little One." (Sheng Yi)

Sheng Yi uses his pointer finger to stroke the creature like he would to a kitten.

[Waaaah! Host! Please spare me!]

The system trembles and is on the verge of tears. It had heard many stories from other systems about how many hosts are very sadistic and scary. This system is still lucky to not have been bound to one before, but it doesn't know how long its luck will last...

Sheng Yi notices the system's fear and chuckles a bit. He too, knows all about the stories of systems gaining scary hosts.

In fact, this is not his first time meeting a system.

"Don't worry, Little One. I'm not one of the scary hosts." (Sheng Yi)

[Really?]

"Yes." (Sheng Yi)

[Then... You're going to agree to becoming my host?]

Sheng Yi observes the little fur ball.

"Do you want to stay by my side?" (Sheng Yi)

His eyes narrow. They look a bit sad. The system sensed something was wrong and went quiet. It scans Sheng Yi for abnormalities.
