Otis was absolutely overwhelmed and clueless as to what to do about this. Olympia asked him to the dance, and Oona also did?! This was crazy! He didn't wanna hurt anyone's feelings by turning them down.
Before Otis could even begin to reason all of that out, he was met with another surprise. Oksana was walking up to him with a piece of paper in her hand.
Not again.
Otis couldn't handle another girl asking him to the dance, and he was pretty sure that's what was about to happen.
He turned to walk away, pretending he didn't see Oksana. But just when Otis thought he was out of Oksana's line of sight, she appeared in front of him, seemingly out of nowhere, making Otis jump.
"Oksana! How'd you- when did you-?" Otis stammered, looking around trying to figure out how she got in front of him so fast.
Oksana handed Otis the paper she was holding, completely ignoring his questions.
Otis looked cautiously at the paper, finding yet another 'will you go to the dance with me?' message.
"I'm asking you to the dance." Oksana clarified in her signature mono-tone voice after Otis didn't reply for a while.
Otis looked up at her "Oh, uh I- I appreciate it, I really do, but umm someone else already asked me…." he replied nervously, trying to let her down easy.
"Did you say yes to them yet?" Oksana expertly asked, still showing almost no expression.
"Uh, no….?" Otis replied truthfully, since he was slightly intimidated by Oksana, who was staring him down at this point.
"Great. Get back to me with a reply." Oksana said, not waiting for Otis to say anything, and walking away.
Otis stood there dumbfounded. Another girl just asked him to the dance. What was he going to do?
His partner, Olympia, his friend, Oona and his…. co-worker, Oksana all wanted to go to the dance with him. He couldn't say yes to all of them.
"Sherman!" Otis heard Orchid call to him, as she walked up behind him.
Otis reluctantly turned to face her. "Yes, Orchid?" he said, not in the mood to deal with her pranks or whatever she had in store today.
When he looked closer though, he saw that she too was holding a piece of paper.
'Why? Why would Orchid ask me to the dance? It must be for someone else.' Otis thought.
He was wrong though.
"I'm asking you to the dance, Sherman." Orchid said, handing him the paper.
Otis didn't even bother to read the note this time since he knew it probably read exactly what Orchid just said.
"Why?" Otis couldn't help but ask.
"Because, I wanna go to the dance with you and tell everyone I have a date. Duh!" Orchid sassily replied.
Otis sighed "Orchid, I'm flattered but literally three other people asked me already." he explained bluntly. He hoped that maybe telling her that would make her back down.
Once again though, he was wrong.
"Did you say yes to them yet?" Orchid questioned.
"Well, I'm kinda still trying to decide-" Otis tried to word his reply differently this time, but was cut off by Orchid, who held up her hand to shush him.
"Get back to me with a reply." Orchid replied, before walking off.
Otis sighed. What was he going to do? He ran toward the hall of doors, attempting to hide for a while to think about this.
He ran inside the pillow room, closing the door behind him. He sighed after he looked over the room briefly to make sure no one was hiding out in there, waiting to ask him to the dance.
