Otis now had three- no, four, four girls who wanted to go to the dance with him.
Olympia, Oona, Oksana and Orchid.
Not to mention, the latter two scared him quite a bit.
He paced around, trying to figure out who he really wanted to go with. Was it Orchid? No. Heck no.
It's not that he didn't like her or anything, he liked her as a friend. But up until today, he was sure she hated him, and he definitely didn't have a crush on her. For all he knew, this all could've been a setup to break his heart or something. Sort of like a mean prank.
Was it Oksana? No. Not her either. After all, she did scare him quite a bit. And he couldn't really read her emotions at all, not that anybody could though.
Otis wasn't really one for talking about feelings anyway, but with Oksana? He was afraid he might do something that he thought was normal, and upset her with it by mistake.
So it was out of Olympia and Oona.
Did he wanna go to the dance with Olympia or Oona? Hard choice. Hard choice indeed. They were so alike.
It wasn't like he really liked Oona in that way, he just didn't exactly wanna turn her down. She was a great friend and super sweet, he didn't wanna break her heart or make things weird between them.
Then there was Olympia, his partner, his best friend. Did he wanna go to the dance with her? Well, if he was being completely honest with himself, he did sorta-kinda like her in that way, sorta-kinda meaning absolutely, totally and completely.
She was just so…. Bubbly and cute and adorable. And he loved her smile and her laugh and her voice…. everything about her.
Of course, he was too shy to tell her that sooner, But now, she wanted to go to the dance with him! So how could he turn that down?
Otis had made his decision. He wanted to go to the dance with Olympia.
But what was he gonna do about Oona, Oksana and Orchid?
"Sherman!!!!" Otis heard someone yell, breaking him from his thoughts.
Orchid was looking for him, and to his disappointment, she finally found his hiding spot.
Orchid pushed the door to the pillow room wide open as Otis jumped slightly in fear.
He hadn't yet figured out how to let her down easy, so he didn't know what to do.
"Sherman, I need an answer!" Orchid stated sassily, putting her hand on her hip.
Otis sighed. "Orchid, look I-" he started, but was cut off by Orchid.
"Hurry up, Sherman! The sooner you say yes, the sooner I can tell everyone that I have a date to the dance." Orchid said.
Just then, Otis had an idea. Maybe if he found Orchid, Oksana and Oona other dates, then he'd be off the hook and wouldn't have to disappoint anyone.
"Hey, wouldn't you rather go to the dance with Ori?" Otis asked Orchid, hoping the reply would be somewhere along the lines of 'yes'.
Orchid tilted her head at him in confusion. "Are you trying to say no to me?" she questioned in an intimidating manner.
"Uh, no, I'm just saying- I mean I just think that it'd be good for you to go with someone a little closer to your age." Otis nervously explained.
Orchid didn't seem to be buying it as she looked even more annoyed by now.
"Uh or I mean someone you maybe like more…. or something…." Otis said to try and clean up his previous statement, mumbling the last part.
"And I mean besides, I think Ori really likes you." he added just to drive the point home.
"You think so?" Orchid asked, all of a sudden more interested in what he was saying.
He was getting through to her.
Otis nodded, sort of afraid to say anything else.
"So you think he'd go to the dance with me?" Orchid questioned.
"Yeah, I think-"
"Of course he would! I'm agent Orchid!" Orchid basically replied to her own question, which Otis didn't exactly mind.
His plan was working! Otis wasn't sure if the whole 'finding-them-other-dates' thing was gonna work on Oksana and Oona, but at least he was pretty sure it would work with Orchid since she seemed to mostly care about just being able to tell everyone that she had a date.
"So are you gonna ask Ori?" Otis cautiously asked.
"Are you gonna ask Ori?" Orchid mocked "What do you think, Sherman?" she said before skipping off with her usual 'la la la la la la la'.
Otis sighed in relief. Now all he had to do was find dates for Oksana and Oona, then he'd be free to say yes to Olympia.
