"Ma, please talk to daddy!" Your sixteen year old daughter said storming away from Justin.
"Talk to him about what?" You asked looking at y/d/n like she lost her senses coming into the house with so much attitude.
"He won't let me go to one of my friend's party. I've kept my good grades, done all the things I'm supposed to do, and he says no, still." She said frowning.
"You know I'm standing right here.." You heard Justin say coming up behind you, kissing your cheek.
"Please dad?" Y/d/ asked hopefully.
"Nope." Justin said tilting his head to the side with a smile.
You raised your eyebrows in amusement.
Y/d/n sighed. "Okay...I'll be upstairs.." She said turning and walking away.
You were at least happy that she dealt with the rejection maturely.
"Justin, why isn't she allowed to go to the party?" You asked confused as you sat on the couch and turned on the TV.
"Y/n, you know how these Highschool parties can get." He said shaking his head.
You grinned. "How would you know how a highschool party is? You've never been to one."
He rolled his eyes. "Yeah well, I watch movies too."
You shook your head. "Y/d/n is such a good girl, I think she deserves to go." You said trying to reason up with him.
"See, that's the problem. She's too good. Its always the innocent ones that suffer at parties." Justin said putting his chin in the air and crossing his arms.
"You're being ridiculous." You simply said.
"Justin I think y/n is wise enough to know when to depart from something bad. If she knew the party was going to be that hard core, do you think she would go?" You asked your husband.
Y/d/n was really humble and responsible. You could trust her with all your heart.
"I mean okay. Teenagers have different personalities. You may know her as sweet y/d/n at home, but when she leaves to go to school in the morning, do you know who she really is?" He asked trying to persuade you.
Okay so he kind of made sense....but still.
"Just let her go, babe."
Justin was quiet. "C'mon baby, y/d/n doesn't even ask for that much. The least you can do is let her go to this party. Even I never got to go out as much as the other kids when I was younger." You said honestly.
"But y/n...."
"No buts. Butts are for sitting." You said.
Justin pouted.
"Anyway, why are you being so uptight?" You asked grabbing a couch cushion.
Justin sat next to you. "Because my baby girl is growing up too fast." He said being honest.
"Aww," you said rubbing his back.
"Y/n for real. Just yesterday she was on the phone with her friends talking about college. Like, what?" He said sighing.
"Well....she does have about two more years before she goes off to college. Of course she'll be talking about it." You told him.
"Y/n you don't understand. Just yesterday she was wrapping her pinky around mine and giggling as I made funny faces at her, now she's...all grown up.." He said resting his head on your shoulder.
