CHAPTER 10

It's already 9pm, and Lan Wangji is still not home. Their uncle was really furious after he heard that the nephew that he's proud the most did something such as cutting classes for the first time and failed to get home by 6pm. Which is the normal time for him to get home if his classes in the university ended early, and it soon became his curfew in Lan Qiren's perspective.

Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji had fun until dark and had dinner outside,, when Wei Wuxian checked the time it's already 9pm.

"Lan Zhan, I think we need to go home now. Uncle Jiang must been worried since I didn't slept at home last night."

"Mn" Lan Zhan nodded.

Lan Wangji persisted to walk Wei Wuxian home, after a couple of rejections, Wei Wuxian gave up and heave a sigh as a sign of surrender.

"Do what you want." He raised both hands and shook his head.

When they arrived at Jiang's Residence, Wei Wuxian only bid a goodbye and goodnight before entering the house, scared that Madame Yu might catch him if they talk longer. Before closing the door, he can still see Lan Wangji outside the gate, standing on the same spot, looking at him as if he's waiting until Wei Wuxian to close the door.

Wei Wuxian smiled and murmured to himself, "He actually has this cute and sweet side of him."

Lan Wangji only left when he confirmed that Wei Wuxian already went inside, he walked home, he walked leisurely, not rushing even though he is well aware that even though 9pm is still considered early for others, but for the Lan Family, 9pm is already too late.

Outside the gate of Lan's Residence, Lan Xichen was standing and waiting for Lan Wangji. When he saw the silhouette of his younger brother, a sweet smile was formed.

"Where have you been? Are you with young master Wei?" he asked.

"Mn." Lan Wangji nodded.

"Uncle is angry, go and talk to him." Lan Xichen opened the gate and was about to go inside.

"Brother, I think I know now why father did that." This statement of Lan Wangji made Lan Xichen froze for a moment. Lan Xichen turned around and heaved a sigh, "Wangji, what he did was never right but he is still out father and I can never hate him, but I don't want you to take the same path he did." He took a step inside and look at Lan Wangji once again, "Let's go, uncle is waiting."

Meanwhile, inside the Jiang's Residence, a certain someone is kneeling on a washboard.

"Where have you been? Last night and today too?" a fierce woman's voice and the sound of the purple whip hitting the ground echoed inside the room.

"I---I'm sorry! I stayed at a friend's house last night and kinda stayed today too? Hehe" Wei Wuxian had a wide smile on his face and laughed foolishly.

"YOU!" Madame Yu said, trying to suppress her anger.

Jiang Cheng put his hand on his face and could only heave a sigh, "This fool, he's not even a bit apologetic of what he did."

Jiang YanLi is also there and was trying to convince Madame Yu not punish Wei Wuxian more and call it a night already. But, seems like Madame Yu won't let this issue slide easily, and that's because Wei Wuxian had been making troubles anywhere he goes and Madame Yu believes that she have to educate him to make sure he won't cause any future troubles.

"What is this? It's already late." Jiang Fengmian stepped inside the room and told Wei Wuxian to stand up.

"Father" Jiang Cheng and Jiang Yanli bowed.

"Go to your room now and rest." He smiled at Wei Wuxian.

Madame Yu can't help but furrowed her brows and shot daggers to her husband.

"Spoiling that adopted son of yours again." She snorted.

Jiang Fengmian ignored her and told everyone to rest. He also retired himself and called it a night already, following the three after they left the room, leaving only Madame Yu alone.

The next day, Wei Wuxian instantly searched for Lan Wangji as soon as he arrived at the University and whenever got a chance .But again, Lan Wangji didn't attend his classes today.

"I wonder if he's busy with something these past days. But he spent the whole day with me playing around yesterday, so maybe not?" Wei Wuxian murmured, he's classes are done for the day and he's about go to few places to have fun. As he was exiting the school gate, he saw Lan Wangji who just got off from expensive looking car. His lips formed a wide smile and ran towards Lan Wangji's directin and called out his name.

"Lan Zhan!" Wei Wuxian shouted while waving his hand.

Lan Wangji saw him approaching and a slight smile was formed, he was about to greet Wei Wuxian too but a fierce voice suddenly called him.

"Wangji! Let's go!" Lan Qiren who just got off from a different car glared at Wei Wuxian.

"Hello young master Wei." Lan Xichen greeted.

Wei Wuxian stopped, "I feel like this old man hold a grudge against me, if I say another word, he might strike me dead." He silently said.

"Wei Ying" Lan Wangji called him despite the deadly look that Lan Qiren's giving them. "See you." Lan Wangji said before following Lan Qiren and Lan Xichen.

"See..you?" Wei Wuxian replied, unsure what Lan Wangji meant by that. Maybe just a simple farewell we use for daily, or maybe he was looking forward to meet him again. With these thoughts, Wei Wuxian grinned.

"What are you so happy about?" Jaing Cheng who just arrived patted him on the shoulder.

"Ha? Nothing... hehehe" Wei Wuxian replied.

"That's not convincing at all." Jiang Cheng raised an eyebrow.

"Ahem! Ahem!" Nie Huisang who arrived with Jiang Cheng coughed a few times. "I bet you talked with Lan Wangji right? Maybe, you even bothered him again Brother Wei."

"What do you mean? I didn't!" Wei Wuxian grinned happily and start walking, the two got more suspicious with his actions.

"What happened to him? He's acting like something good happened." Jiang Cheng said.

"MMm..." Nie Huisang put his fist on his mouth, "Maybe he's in love?" He shouted and it caught a lot of attention from the other students.

"You stupid! What are you saying?" Jiang Cheng covered his mouth with his palm and dragged him. Being together with Wei Wuxian every day is tiring, the troubles and those shameful acts he'd always do will surely be the death of him. "Well, it's true that he is, he's been in love with Zewu-Jun for a long time now." He said to himself and smiled bitterly. Jiang Cheng will be happy and will be the one to congratulate Wei Wuxian first if his love interest bore fruits. But there is also a part of him that starting to change, a feeling that he will surely toss aside if necessary.
