THE NEXT DAY......
*Birds Chirping*
*Bell's ringing*
The first subject is about to start, students rushed to their rooms and immediately sat. Everyone is present except Wei Wuxian, no one paid attention to his absence since he was always late.
"Ok! All of you take your seats! I'll check your attendance now." The professor said as he entered the classroom.
Jiang Cheng stared at the door, "Where is he?" he said.
THAT DAY (After Wei Wuxian left)
Wei Wuxian keep on walking without any destination until he found a park he never been to before. He sat on a bench and look up at the sky. "I wonder what he's doing right now." He smiled as he remembered a person who is beautiful as the stars in the sky and as quiet as the night. He closed his eyes and tried to calm himself but still, tears started to fall to his cheeks. He tried to conceal it and to bear it alone but no matter what, he couldn't hold it in. He bawled and rubbed his eyes, still trying to stop himself from crying.
"It's ok... No one else is here... Just you... It's ok to let it all out..."
A voice kept ringing in his ears that made him unable to stop. He cried and cried until his eyes become dry and swollen. But why? Why the tears still keep on flowing? Why can't he stop from crying?
"Is it painful?" The voice said.
"Yes" Wei Wuxian answered.
"Are you hurt?"
"Yetsh" Wei Wuxian responded again. His voice is trembling, in his every reply it gets worse that in some point, the word coming from his mouth jumbled and hard to understand.
"Are you okay?" The voice inquired again.
"No"
"Are you okay? Are you hurt somewhere?" The voice sounds different now but still, Wei Wuxian responded in his mind.
"No, I'm not okay!" He said.
"Hey! Are you okay? Are you hurt somewhere?" The voice repeated.
"Why are you kept asking the same question!" He cried, but the voice repeated the question again.
"STOP IT! I AM NOT OKAY! CAN'T YOU SEE THAT I'M NOT OKAY?" He snapped.
"Wei Ying?" The voice called. Wei Wuxian turned around. He saw a pair of golden eyes staring at him, "Wei ying!" Lan Wangji still wore his expressionless face but he immediately sat beside him and offered him a hot canned coffee.
"La—Lan Zhan! What are you doing here?" He asked.
"Why are you crying?" Lan Wangji asked, still holding the coffee in mid-air.
Wei Wuxian went silent for a moment, wiped his tears and took the coffee as he smiled. "It's nothing, just got a bad day." Even though he tried his best to make it sound true, his messy face, his eyes that got terribly swollen from crying and rubbing made it's obvious that he's been crying for long. Lan Wangji's brows furrowed, "Why are you lying?" He said in his mind. He clenched his fist and gritted his teeth, he want to know what is the reason of his sadness, who hurt him like this, he want to help him, he want to hug him tightly until he stop crying, he want to tell him... How much he cares. But, all he could do right now is to be by his side and wait silently until he decides to open up to him.
If one is to describe Lan Wangji, everyone would say he's an amazing, outstanding, genius, and a gentle person. But the truth is HE'S JUST A COWARD. Despite of what others see him and praise him, he see himself as coward.
He can't speak up clearly...
He can't show what he feels in his actions...
His face is stone cold...
His personality is cold as ice...
While he was thinking of how cowardly he is, he suddenly remembered a phrase from one of his favorite books.
"A coward dies a thousand times before his death"
He closed his eyes and let out a sigh, that's right... That single phrase defines his life these past years. He's nothing but a coward, a coward who can't convey his emotions properly.... And he knew that deep inside, he already died a hundred times. Again and again, he kept dying for a reason he cannot identify.
"Lan Zhan!" Wei Wuxian patted him on the shoulder. "You suddenly got silent, what's the matter?" How ironic, aren't he should be the one who should be cheering him up and taking care of him but instead he made Wei Wuxian worried. It only made Lan Wangji feel more miserable, but he can't make it worse, he want to do something for him, he want to show him that he will be there in any painful moments.
"It's cold" He stood up and pulled Wei Wuxian.
--
Lan Wangji silently opened the door, followed by Wei Wuxian they entered the house.
"Is this your home?" Wei Wuxian looked around and chuckled. "It gives the Lan aura! It's traditional, big and so quiet" he continued.
"En" Lan Wangji nodded. "Come here, Stay" They walked carefully, not wanting to wake up anyone and he pulled him into his room.
"eh? I'm going to stay here?" Wei Wuxian titled his head and asked.
"En. Stay."
"Is that okay? Where are your uncle and brother? Won't they get angry if they discover I'm here? How about your parents?" He asked.
"En. Stay!"
Wei Wuxian let out a sigh and sat on the bed, "Fine! Fine! I'll stay!" talking with Lan Wangji won't get him anywhere. And whatever he do and say, Lan Wangji will only ignore him, so to make this conversation short Wei Wuxian decided to stay the night in the Lan Household.
