Abigail
I checked in at the gate going through the security. I had completely new passports and a new license. I was called on to board the plane. Goodbye to my old life and hello to my new one.
I woke up later once the plane landed in Australia. I don’t even remember falling asleep, I guess that makes sense I don’t remember a lot of things. I got off picking at my sweater covering my heads then uncovering them and repeating that process, Its nervous habit of mine. I dragged my feet not wanting to leave but knowing I had to. When I exited the terminal I looked around. Nobody stood out as relating to Dave.
“Are you Abigail?”
I turned around coming face to face with an older woman, standing behind her four teenage boys. One of them looked similar so I’m guessing that’s her son. I nodded my head shakily not knowing who this lady was but im guessing its Mrs.Hemmings? She brought me in for a hug I cringed at the burning I felt. The drawings burn like never before. I tried to conceal the pain, but two of the boys noticed understanding looks where passed between them. Oh god I think they know. Mrs.Hemmings dragged us towards baggage claim with the boys following. I am still not sure who they are, but it doesn’t matter ill find out eventually I guess. We quickly got my bags and headed out of the airport. No one has said a word so an awkward silence fills the air. When we got to the car that’s when it finally got louder the boys were fighting over who got to sit where while Mrs.Hemmings was telling them to stop fighting. I stood back not knowing what to do.
“Luke, Ashton can you guys help her with her bags?”
A tall blonde one and a curly haired one walked over to me. It was the two boys from earlier who exchangened the knowing looks. Oh no anything but those two. I followed them to the trunk of the car and they loaded my bags.
“Abigail are you okay?”
They blonde one asked me in a hushed voice as the other loaded the bags. I nodded my head yes, but he didn’t believe me. He grabbed at my arms but I smacked at his hands.
“Don’t ever touch me again.”
I hissed out the words and walked away. They watched me turn the corner of the car and climb into the front. I guess they weren’t expecting me to lash out at them. The car ride was loud with the darker haired boy and colorful haired one talking loudly. Luke and Ashton though were in the very back murmuring words under their breath, every so often glancing towards me. Panic set in so I tried busying myself by looking out the window. Australia was beautiful the sunset being the best part. We pulled up to a big house the boys all piled out, but Luke and Ashton waited for me. I went to the back struggling to get the suitcases, when they noticed they pulled them out for me.
“We got it come on we will show you your room.”
I followed a safe distance from them hoping and praying they wouldn’t ask any more questions. They didn’t as they walked into the house and up a flight of stairs. We walked to the end of a long hallway and curly opened the door at the very end of the hall. The walls were creamed colored a bed was pushed into the corner blue sheets covered it. There was a bookshelf and a TV the room was simple which I was glad for. The one thing I was excited for though was the dark colored acoustic guitar on the wall across from my bed. I always wanted to play.
