We drove in silence, I was just too worried to talk. As we pulled up, I sighed and got out.
We sat in the waiting room until my name was called.
"Miss June?", a lady called.
So not used to being called by my last name. Jodie grabbed my hand and looked at me.
Her eyes were asking if I wanted her to come in with me. I nodded and squeezed her hand back.
We walked in and sat down. Jodie held my hand underneath the table, for comfort. I looked at the doctor. She was kind looking.
"May I call you Allira?", she asked.
I nodded, "It's I prefer", I smiled.
"Okay Allira, well the blood tests came back. The resuts are that... ", she paused while reading.
"You are very lacking in Iron and Magnesium. Your immune system is very healthy...", she kept listing off the results of the blood test. I started to feel better. Perhaps I was freaking out over nothing?
I heard her say something extra, and Jodie squeezed my hand.
"I'm sorry what did you say?", I asked.
"I said you're pregnant!", she congratulated.
"Umm..", I said quietly.
"Only about 4 weeks in, I take it by your expression this wasn't planned?", she asked.
"No not planned at all, my boyfriend is touring at the moment so this was definatley not planned", I rambled.
"He might just have to cancel the tour then?", she asked.
"He's part of a group, if he cancels it takes down the entire show", I said sadly.
"I'm sorry to hear that, I wish you all the best", she said before showing us the door.
I walked out into the carpark and just stood there. How was I going to tell John? To be honest, I was scared. Jodie walked up to me and hugged me.
"It's going to be okay love, I promise", she told me.
"How can you be sure? John and I havn't been together as long as you and Len have. You guys are perfect together..." I trailed off.
"Listen, you and John have been together for what? 6 Months? That's big for John, he only does serious relationships so you can trust him. Everything will be fine", she said, still hugging me.
I cried in her arms for a while, then I decided it was time to go home. As we pulled up I saw John, walking back inside with the mail. Good, he was awake.
"Do you think you could wait out here?", I asked Jodie.
"Sure honey, just text me when everythings okay and I'll leave?", she said back with a question.
"Perfect... thank you Jodie", I smiled genuinley at her.
"Anytime babygirl, no go tell him!", she smiled.
I took a deep breathe, hugged her once more and got out of the car. I walked through the door and straight into the kitchen. I saw John and immediatley went up and hugged him. He chuckled and hugged me tightly back. I titled my head and kissed him. He kissed back passionatley. Finally I pulled away and walked around the bench to get a drink.
"Want a glass of juice?", I asked him getting out the bottle.
"sure babe", he smiled.
I pushed his glass across the table at him and took a sip out of mine. Stop stalling Allira!
"Hey John..." I started.
He looked up into my eyes. Oh I loved him. I hoped he took this well. The lump in my throat prevented me from talking so I pulled out the form the doctor had given me. It had all the blood test results with the "Pregnant positive" highlighted.
"I have something to tell- well show you", I said sliding the note across the table.
I watched his face as he scanned the paper. I saw his breathe catch and he looked at me.....
