Poppy curled into her sweatshirt, letting numb tears fall down her cheeks. It was the sixth time this week that she was crying over missing her boyfriend.

It had been a month since her trip to the UK and there was nothing she wanted more than to make physical contact with him. She desperately wanted to have him hold her, or let herself run her hands through his hair. She wanted to fall asleep with his arms around her, or wake up to a kiss on the nose.

They still talked everyday, but the relationship was getting bumpy. Both were struggling with not having each other anywhere near, but buying a plane ticket wasn't easy. George had been saving up money to go to Florida, trying to reassure her he didn't up and forget about her.

Poppy let her head flop back before hearing the join call sound effect. George had joined. "Hi," She said quietly.

He sounded just as upset as she did. "Hi," He replied. "Are you doing okay?"

"That's a tough question to answer," Poppy frowned. "I really miss you, Georgie."

"I really miss you too, Poppy."

The two stayed quiet for a minute before Poppy began her stream. The entire mood of the call quickly changed to upbeat and happy.

They hated the act.

Poppy placed the final gate for the fence that surrounded Pax. She gently smiled. "Thanks for all your help George," She thanked him.

"Anytime," He laughed, running back to his area of the server. About 15 minutes later, Poppy figured it was time to stop the stream, but there was a sudden commotion. 2 people joined her voice channel, screaming. She jumped at the sudden noice.

"HELP US, WOMAN!" Tommy screamed into his microphone. Poppy turned her volume down.

"What?" She asked, a bit panicked. "What's going o-"

"STAY OUT OF L'MANBURG," Wilbur warned with a loud voice. Poppy was still confused and waited for them to quiet down.

"Can you please explain why you're screaming?" Poppy asked with a dull tone. The voice channel went silent with the exception of deep breathing from the boys.

Tommy screamed and Poppy's face dropped. Her chat was spamming with keyboard smashes. They eventually calmed down. "Have you been up to date with the election?" Wilbur asked. There was an unbearable sad tone in his voice, almost an angry one. Poppy 'mhm'ed. There was a sigh. "Well, Schlatt just won because he teamed up with Quackity."

"This is bad," Tommy added. "This is very bad."

"What's so wrong about Schlatt winning? I mean is it really that big of a deal that you lost?"

Tommy let out a gasp, as did Wilbur. Will spoke up. "Our citizenship had been revoked," He said simply. Things began to make sense.

"Oh, I see," She stated. "Do you need a place to stay until you find one? Pax has a lot of extra space and food."

"We're gonna have to stay underground for a while, but if you could provide food until we make a farm that would be extremely helpful" Wilbur suggested. He paused. "Make sure Niki is okay."

"Of course, of course," Poppy said with care. "Is there anything else you need?"

The two thought before Tommy said, "I think that's all. Thank you for your help."

They exited the call and Poppy blankly stared at her chat. A plethora of mixed messages flooded her monitor.

"Well that was eventful," She said simply.

Poppy knocked on Clay's door and he opened it rather quickly. The girl didn't budge and he gently pulled her into a hug. She began crying soft tears, trying to hold them back. Clay let her inside, taking her to his bedroom.

They fell into the position they always did. Clay sitting down on the bed while Poppy lied against his chest. It helped calm her down knowing there was a human with a heartbeat.

"So what's going on?" He asked quietly, very cautiously rubbing circles on her shoulder. A shuddering breath escaped her lips.

"Distance is a bitch," She whispered. She took a deep inhale before speaking. "It's just... It's like... Like he's so far away and everything is more difficult now that we've seen each other and I wanna be in his arms again and I'm pretty sure that he doesn't even like me anymore and I'm just so scared that any day he'll end it and if he does end it then I don't know what I'm going to do," She very quickly sputtered. More tears fell down her face.

Clay speedily released his arm from her and sat up so she wasn't on his chest. He felt bad. "I didn't make you uncomfortable, did I?"

"No, why?"

"Well... You're in a relationship, and we were just kinda-"

"Oh."

Neither had considered the fact that they were practically cuddling and Poppy was in a relationship. They'd done it a million times before as friends, but things were different. She sat up and grabbed his hand. "Platonically," She mumbled with a smile. "No hetero."

They laughed and the room got quiet again. They kept their loud thoughts to a minimum. "George isn't going to leave you," Clay stated. "He loves you too much for that."

Poppy's head was running circles. She hardly even comprehended what he said. She looked up at him. "Yeah."

"Just give him some time. You guys are just going through a bit of a rough patch right now."

The girl shuddered and gave him a hug. He hugged back, cradling the back of her head as she cried into his sweatshirt. "Thank you," She murmured.

"Always."
