CHAPTER 4

I can't believe I almost got caught back there. If they find out I'm an orange they'll kill me.

I continued to walk in a line with all this other kids so we can go to our next station when all of a sudden the whit sound came on, it's a horrible sound that only affect us, kids with powers. The soldiers continue blaring the piercing sound, I feel as if I'm gonna fall out, I can't stand it anymore. Everything went dark. 

2 Hours Later

I wake up, chained to a hospital bed. I move around viscously not knowing what will happen to me. I'm scared, What happened to Me?

"It's ok, you're fine", The nurse came in.

"Why am I here" I asked.

"The white noise caused you to pass out, so they brought you to the infirmary", she said.

I look around, looking for any ways to escape.

"It's ok, you're safe here", she says as if she knew I wanted to escape.

"Hi, I'm Dr. Begbie, but if it make you feel more comfortable you can call me Kate, forget the doctor business " She said sending me a smile that I just couldn't return back,"-You know before this I was a social worker and that remind me of a girl I used to know".

"What happened to her", I asked.

"I couldn't help her then, but I want you to know that I'm here for you-" She interpreted by a loud buzzing noise.

"Do you remember falling when you heard the white noise?" She said going back to her.

The guard banged on the gate. "Time's UP" The guard gruffed. 

"This time was different"I whispered, she nodded her head then dropped her clipboard.

She walked out of the Little-fenced room.

"I need to keep her overnight", I heard her say to the guard.

"You gotta talk it up with Captain MCmanus". He said escorting Kate out of the room.

I look at the clipboard then flipped through pages until I got the back of the clipboard it had a note and a little key. I quickly read the notes. 

"They know you're an ORANGE. They're gonna kill you...

If you want to live, wait for me in the Boiler Room

-A FRIEND, If you like"

At the bottom of the note was a key. I grabbed the key without hesitation and unlocked the handcuffs.

DOCTOR'S POV

"Results of the frequency test", I said as a nurse came into my office.

"Who spiked the highest",I said holding my hand out as I grabbed the folders from the other doctor's hands.

I looked at the report  shock . It was a girl named as Roseanne Park who was an ORANGE.

"Oh God, Alert the Captain" I said in panic.

I don't understand how this could have happened . For the past ten years I have been the only one to ever test the children and their abilities. How did she get past me? The Captain is going to be furious...I thought..

ROSE'S POV

"Security breach lock down the infirmary"the message kept playing over the loudspeaker.

I run down the halls into the boiler room and hide in the corner waiting for Kate.

The door opened and Kate rushed in with clothes to change into.

"Put these on quick, hurry" she said. I did as told, it was some nursing scrubs and then she gave me a mask. "Play Along".

She ran down the had to an exit, she opened the door and looked if the coast was clear before she pulled me out towards a car and opened the door and ushered me in.

"Cover your face as much as you can" she said looking back at me through the rear through mirror.

I pulled the mask as high as can and pull out the raincoat over my head, the only thing visible is my eyes.

We approach the gate, a guard stop us.

"Hey, I got DR.RODGER in the back".

"Doctor's ID please" the guard said.

"Yeah, I have it right here, he zonked out on pain meds." Kate said trying to avoid the question.

"Dr. Rodger, u have to remove ur mask". He said trying to get a view of me from the backseat.

"I don't think that's a good idea, he's highly contagious".

"Roll down the back window, please", he said.

"I don't think that's a good ide--" 

"It's a protocol ma'am, roll down the back window, I'm not asking again." he said sternly getting mad. I'm nervous about this, this is the end for me.

As the windows rolled down, the guard grabbed my shoulder attempting to turn me around but I quickly turn to him and grab his arms activating my powers. He looks in shock.

"You don't feel well" i said.

"I don't feel well" he repeated.

"You will let us go", i say . "I will let you both go" he repeats and gives the other guard the clear for us to pass.

"That was close" Kate said.

This is gonna be a long ride. I thought as I fainted at the backseat...
