2 weeks later

I've been trying to ignore Jade as much as I could. It wasn't that hard considering I thankfully only saw her in our History lectures. Although I still missed her like crazy, I knew it was better for me to keep her away from me.

Meanwhile, Lauren and I have been texting a lot. We didn't do anything nor did we go on dates. We just talked. I needed someone who was able to understand my situation and I do love Jesy, but I needed someone who understood that Jade and I were never going to be over.

Lauren understood me because she had the same situation with Camila, except that they were still friends. I don't know if that's better or worse. I knew that I would be hurting tremendously if I were still friends with Jade.

"You coming with us to the movies tonight?", Jesy asked, jumping next to me on the sofa as I replied to Lauren with a heart emoji.

"No, gotta pass, sorry. Exams are coming up the next few weeks and as much as I like hanging out with all of you again, I haven't started studying yet and I really need the good grades.", I explained.

"Okay, if you need anything, text or call me and I'll be back in a second.", Jesy hugged me goodbye before Louis came to pick her up. I swear if Jesy wasn't a lesbian and Louis gay I would have tried to couple them up ages ago.

After Jesy left I decided to put on some music while studying. I ended up talking to Lauren on FaceTime, dancing and eating at the same time, while trying to get English Literature into my head.

"How come someone like you wants to become a Teacher?", Lauren suddenly asked, obviously teasing me. I knew where this was going. As much as Lauren and I were only friendly to each other and didn't hook up again, it kind of always tented to end up in the flirty route. I guess that was just our chemistry.

"Says the one wanting to be a architect.", I teased back, which only made Lauren roll her eyes playfully. "Well, I always loved helping and teaching people things they could use in the future.", I explained, stuffing a piece of bread into my mouth.

"Yeah, so basically anything but working at a school." That made me giggle because it was kind of true.

"I mean, yes.", I laughed,"But I want to make my lessons more creative and fun. I want to be different than other teachers."

"Miss Edwards. Sounds nice I think.", Lauren smirked.

"Thanks a lot, Miss Jauregui.", I smiled back before continuing looking at my English Literature notes.

I could sense Lauren staring at me through the video call. It kind of made me feel excited. I felt very good in my body lately, like as if I had a personal awakening.

"Staring is not allowed here, Miss.", I teased.

"Well, I can't come over so that's all I get." I started grinning. She's a real flirt. I continued looking at my notes as I heard a door opening on the other side of the video call.

"Who are you talking to?" Jade.

"Oh, just talking to a pretty girl.", Lauren answered. It was a sweet compliment but I knew what she was doing. She was testing Jade. But to be honest, I was more worried about the pounding in my chest that was happening right now. Just hearing Jade's voice was sending shivers down my spine and knowing she was there with Lauren made my knees go weak.

But I had to show her I was over her even if it wasn't true. I can't be the fool who's still hung up on her ex after two years while she doesn't seem to bother.

"You sure about that?", Jade asked sarcastically.

"Lauren?", I called out and by Lauren's facial expression I knew Jade recognized my voice. "Wanna come over and help me study?"
