Christine's POV
As we drove in my dark blue jeep to the froyo place, Nadir was singing his favorite song "It's the final countdown". They stopped at a red light. The car next to them had their window rolled down. They were clearly annoyed at Nadir. They angrily threw some spicy ruffles at him. Nadir was completely confused. He thought they liked his singing so he started singing so much louder. By the time the light turned green, everyone in my car was crying from laughter. The people in the car next to us even ran the red light to get away from us. "They loved me," Nadir said it so seriously, that we burst into another fit of laughter. We finally saw a froyo shop. We parked and ran in.
I sat down at a table with Erik, while Nadir and Raoul got as much froyo as the flimsy cartons could hold. I noticed Erik was acting strange... well... stranger than usual. "Whatcha thinking about buddy?" I whispered so none of the girls across the room who were checking him out would hear. He didn't seem to hear, so I grabbed his hand and gave it a tight squeeze. This did the trick as he came tumbling back to reality." If you ever need to talk to me or just need me, always know I'll be here." He nodded and looked away. I got up and suddenly Raoul embraced me and said: "I love you since the day I met you. I hope you feel the same way." I pushed him away and looked into Raoul's blue eyes they were filled with hurt."I love you too Raoul but ...not romantically."I looked at Erik for help but all I saw in his eyes was hurt, and it can't be ...jealousy? Raoul grabbed my chin and made me look up into his eyes. I saw lots of sadness in those azure gelatinous marbles "I...I need air!" I screeched, running past a wide-eyed Nadir. Erik and Raoul tried to grab me as they told me to wait.
I ran past my car and the parking lot. I sprinted into the street and by the time I remembered to look both ways, it was too late. Honk! I looked up and saw a giant truck barreling towards me. Suddenly in a blink of an eye, I saw a man leaning against a pole at least 20 yards away. He suddenly tackled me out of the way. I quickly thanked him and said bye as I dashed to the park. Once I got there I turned and saw Erik, Raoul, and a panting Nadir holding his froyo. He forgot to pay for it. He trips causing him to drop his froyo. Raoul didn't notice the sticky mess of prune flavored froyo. He tried to pick up his pace, but instead slipped and face planted in the froyo. I quickly scale a tree once I reach the park. Raoul, who is now covered in prune flavored froyo, furiously starts climbing up the tree after me. Erik screams, "Leave her alone!" and tries to stop him by grabbing his ankle, but instead grabs the cuff of his puffy pants and accidentally pulls off his pants and his shoe that gets tangled with the fabric. Under there are... really hairy GOAT LEGS?????? I start getting dizzy and the next thing I know, I'm falling headfirst out of the tree. I don't know how it happened, because Erik was at least 20 feet away. He was helping Nadir distract onlookers, catching me before I completely blacked out. I gazed into those beautiful eyeballs of the beautiful man I truly love.
Erik's POV
Christine's fragile body plummeted towards the ground in a millisecond. I was there to catch her, my strong arms gently cradled her body against mine. Before her eyes completely rolled back into her head, I saw a very strong emotion in her eyes... love? I shook away the thought. How could such a beautiful angel love a demon like me? "Fish your pants out of the mud before anyone sees" I hissed. I made sure I had a firm grip on her and walked back to her car with a very muddy and sticky Raoul in tow. Nadir was waiting for us in the car. He must have gone back after I caught her.
