Christine's POV
" Uhhhh..." I groaned back into consciousness. Where am I? What's that warm lump next to me? I saw a peaceful Erik next to me...Oh yeah! He was still asleep. I started to get out of bed. "
Christine!" I whipped around. Erik was reaching out, but his eyes were still closed. He must be still asleep. I kissed his cheek, pulled up the old blanket to his chin, and grabbed my phone. I checked the time it was 7:39. I tried to avoid everyone as I tip-toed around looking for the exit. Once I was outside I texted Meg, one of my good friends.Texting
Christine: how was ur vacay?
Meg: great I just got back.
Christine: we haven't talked for a while...wanna go out to eat I have to pick some stuff up for a friend.
Meg: ohhhhhh, that sounds fun.
Christine: I'll come and pick u up rn.
Meg: k see u.

"So, who's this 'friend' you told me about?" I rolled my eyes at Meg. "Just some guy I know." "AHA! So, it's a guy!" "Yes. He got hurt...so I wanted to get him something." I said pushing my food around my plate. "Well, I'll help you get the perfect gift." She announced. We planned about what to get him as we quickly finished our food. "So you love him?" She whispered poking me. "Stop and yes well...I think so." We walked into a little fancy shop and bought him chocolate and red roses. We walked past the pet shop. "Let's go inside!" Meg announced as she pulled me inside. She always was an animal person. "Can I help you, dearies?" An elderly man said coming out from behind a counter. "We're shopping for a friend," Meg tells him. "Ah, I see that you've spotted one of the best." The man said, seeing me watch an adorable Siamese kitten with silver-blue eyes. He took it out of the enclosure and placed it in my arms. She curled up in a ball and started purring. "I'll buy her." "Ah good choice," he said as I handed him the money.

Erik's POV
My eyes shot open. "Where's Christine?" I yelled at Nadir, who was writing something down. "I don't know." He responded casually not looking up. " I need to speak to her..." I slurred. Looking over at the nightstand, I notice my mask is lying on top I jam it back in place. Suddenly the door creaked open. "SUPRISE!!!!!" My darling Christine and a random blonde girl shrieked. I winced at the high pitch sound. "Oops, sorry Erik!" Christine whispered. "Ok...it ok," I said back. The random girl handed me a bouquet of roses and some chocolate. "Thank you..." I breathed. "You didn't have to..." My precious Christine strode up to me with her hands behind her back. "What do you have there, my dear?" She shot me a sly smile and revealed a ... fluffy creature. "KITTY!!!" I rejoiced, taking her from Christine's hands. She curled up on my chest and purred, licking my chin. "Ayesha," I said finally. "Her name will be Ayesha." "Angel, I need to speak to you...alone." The random girl smiled and said, "I'll leave you two love birds to it!" After she left, I asked her about that girl. "Oh, she's Meg, an old friend of mine. That's not what you want to talk about?" I shook my head grimly. "No. Now, where is that low life excuse for a friend?" She looked at me puzzled. "Rolfe?" "Yes!" I hissed. "He left late last night." I grabbed my mask and furiously threw it on the ground causing it to shatter. Ayesha hissed in distress. "Shhhhh, it's okay... shh." I pet her tiny head until she calmed down. She looked at my grotesque infection, meowed and nuzzled it. This made my heart melt. "So what about Rolfe? I thought you were friends." "I thought so too until he cornered me in the alley."
