7 boys, clad in colorful suits, walked up towards the stage, cheers and applause echoing in the background. The member known as Jay stepped forward to take the mic, "Hey guys nice to see y'all ...again."
The crowd erupted in laughter.
"I've spoken for the other 6 awards so I'm sure you're tired of hearing my voice yeah?"
Many "no"s and "we love you Jay"s were heard from the shouting crowd.
"Well anyway," he continued "I'm sure all of you know that my hyung over here is working on his solo album 'Our Youthful Moments' ."
More screams and cheers .
"How about we have him come up and speak? Cmon" he pushed the other member forward. Him.
Flashing his signature smile he cleared his throat "Ah...hi everyone..."
The crowd screamed once again.
"First of all, we're very honored to have received so much support with this comeback as well as with Our Youthful Moments. As you know I am the last member to release a solo album..."
"Yes! We've been waiting!" One girl shouted from the crowd. He turned beat red as the other members doubled over in laughter behind him.
"...ah yes, I apologize for that. This album has taken me 5 years to carefully write and create. However I really want to create the best product that truly represents me, for our number one supporters. Each and every song is made to make you guys feel something through our music, so I really hope I can do that with this album and we really hope we were able to do that with this comeback. Of course for this amazing honor we'd like to thank Txt sunbaenim for always encouraging us when we were first rookies, Bts sunbaenim who we miss very very very much, and...."
He paused, as if contemplating to say another name. He did that at every award show, as if he was leaving an empty spot for someone's name, a silent thanks.
He continued "Again thankyou everyone, well try to keep coming back with better content. Always." All 7 boys bowed, the camera zooming in on his face. His sparkling brown eyes and equally dazzling smile, your guilty pleasure.
You knew better. You knew watching things like this would only hurt you further. Lying under the excuse that you had no choice for he's everywhere. Every tabloid having the headlines:
"Enhyphen Becomes the Fastest Rookie Group to Rise to Fame"
"Enhyphen, Txt, and Stray kids, the Leaders of 4th Gen Kpop"
And all the news articles said:
"Enhyphen Wins Artist of the Year Award for 2 Consecutive Years!"
"Who Ranked the Highest Out of Kpop Idols in 2025? The Ace of Course"
And all the radio shows talked about was:
"Kpop 'Ace' is Coming out With a New Album and Fans Are Going Crazy"
But the truth was, you chose to peak at those tabloids, you chose to read those news articles, and you purposefully put on radio stations that would interview him.
You were under constant denial, but deep down you knew, he was your drug. No matter how much you didn't want him you needed him. You took pleasure in indulging him, knowing the damage it has caused the past 5 years. But you couldn't help it. That one night... those feelings. You lost all control as soon as you heard the name, Lee Heeseung.
