EPILOGUE

↠"Hey mommy." Sarabi laid the flowers against her tombstones. She ran her hands across Zazu's tombstone and smiled sadly.
"I wanna meet you so bad." She muttered lowly. She didn't bother trying to hold back the tears, letting them run freely down her face.
"Dad and Uncle Kiki are always telling me stories about you and god, I wish I had the chance to meet you just once. To hold you in my arms and never let you go."
A breeze blew past and Sarabi smiled, knowing it was her mother trying to comfort her. She wiped the tears that were on her face.
"I turned seventeen today. And Uncle Kiki was in charge of throwing my birthday party today. If I learned anything from dads and his stories, you would have kicked his a-word at the party he threw me." She chuckled.
"But I had fun. It was by far, the best birthday ever." She crouched lowly and wrapped her arms around her knees as she stared at her mother's grave.
Her birthday party had ended at eleven, courtesy of her father. Every year, after she was done celebrating her birthday, she would come spend the rest with her mother. And the older she got, that didn't change a bit.

"Can't believe it." Hasani spoke to his brother as they stood at the car, watching Sarabi talk to her mother.
"You? I never thought I'd see the day where Sarabi was all grown up." Haliki smiled. Seventeen years had passed and Sarabi had grown into a intelligent and beautiful young lady. She was smart, a straight A-student at that. She was full of curiosity and joy, very much like her mother.
Through the years, Hasani had watched her become more and more like Zazu. Sometimes he found himself in awe at how much alike they were.
"Zazu would have been proud." Haliki said. Their eyes hadn't left Sarabi once. She was talking animatedly in front of her mothers grave.
"Yes, yes she would have." Hasani nodded in agreement. A smile found its way on his face. Sarabi was his pride and joy. It made him happy to see how well she grew up.
He doubted himself at first. He thought he'd do a bad job and it didn't make it any better that he knew absolutely nothing about raising children but he did it. With Haliki's help. He was forever grateful to his younger brother for all he'd done for him and Sarabi during these long seventeen years.
The wind blew by gently and Hasani closed his eyes, sighing softly as the wind caressed his face. Zazu. He thought. Sarabi hadn't been the only one to think Zazu communicated through the wind. It always bought him comfort when the wind blew.
"Done already?" Hasani opened when he heard Haliki ask that question. Sarabi was standing in front of them, still dressed in her birthday outfit
"Yep. My feet hurt and I'm ready to lay down." He chuckled and opened the car door for her. He made sure she never touched that door handle when she was with him. It was something he did with Zazu and he did the same for her.
"Lay down? Girl you know we bout to watch movies till the sun come up." He nudged her shoulder right before she got in the car. She laughed and it was music to his ears. This is what he loved. Her happiness.
