𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐋𝐄𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐑— PART TWO.

"Sarabi Iman." Hasani muttered. He stared at his baby with sad eyes. He had cried until he could no longer do so.

The pain he felt in his chest was immense. Unlike any other pain he'd ever felt before. Getting shot couldn't even compare to this. He had lost his whole world and he wasn't even there to say goodbye.

He reached over and caressed her face, smiling lovingly when she moved a bit before settling into her sleep once more.

"Yo." Hasani looked up towards his room door and saw his brother, Haliki standing there.

"Wassup." He greeted him and they dapped each other up before hugging one another tightly.

"Beautiful ain't she." Haliki nodded his head in Sarabi's direction. Hasani glanced at her before nodding. "Yea man. Can't believe this my lil one."

Haliki chuckled. "You know, I use to tell Zazu she was gonna live. That she would give birth to Sarabi and still be here after." He dropped his head down and bit his lip, trying to keep from crying.

He released a deep breath short after before continuing. Tears prickling his eyes. "I tried to tell
myself that because I wanted to believe that Zazu would survive. Survive and live a life with you and Sarabi but I knew better. Hell, the doctors told us right in our faces the risk she faced."

Hasani wrapped his arms around his brother and hugged him tightly. He knew he wasn't the only one hurt by Zazu's death. His brother was going through it almost as bad as he was.

"Kiki." Hasani began to speak as he patted his brother gently on his back. "I'm sorry man." He apologized. Tears began to slowly stream down his face. "I'm sorry I wasn't there for you, I'm so sorry."

The two brothers cried in each other's embrace. Mutters of "I'm sorry" and "I love you" filled Hasani's room.

Almost an hour had passed when the brothers finally calmed down. And now, Sarabi was awoke.

Hasani stared in awe at the big, brown eyes that looked back at him. Zazu. He thought immediately, She had Zazu's eyes.

"I'm gonna let you spend some quality time with her. But I recommend you finish reading Zazu's letter. You need that closure." Haliki said before he bent down, kissing Sarabi on her forehead and leaving, making sure to close the door behind him.

Hasani looked down at his babygirl and she looked right back up at him. They stared at one another for a moment before Sarabi smiled, her gums on full show and that cause Hasani to chuckle.

"Goofy." Was the word he used to describe her.

He looked over at his nightstand where Zazu's letter sat. He eyed it before grabbing it. He sat Sarabi up in his lap before he began to read the letter once more.

My pregnancy had been rough. There were days where I didn't wanna eat, days where I was in so much pain that I had no idea if i would be able to continue to carry this child.

My doctor told me upfront that I should consider getting an abortion. Because if I carried this baby, there was the slightest chance that I would miscarry or die in the process.

I had faith though, faith that I could carry this baby and I did. The sleepless nights, the pain , everything I went through was all worth it.

Don't be sad. I may not be there physically but I will always be in your hearts and watching over the both of you.

I love you, Hasani Rashad Iman.

Ps, it's okay to date other women. As long as they treat Sarabi right. I would hate to have to hunt a bitch for mistreating my baby.

Make sure she knows how much I love her.

Till we meet again my love

Love Zazu.

Hasani released a breath he had no idea he was holding. But he felt relieved. Relieved that Zazu could rest. She was in a better place and he knew that.

The pain would always be there but he would continue to live and be a good father to his little lion.

He looked down at her, grinning as she gummed on her fingers. "We gone be alright. For mommy, we gone live this life like no other."

He looked out his window, staring into the night sky. "Ya heard that Zu? We gone be alright."
