"Tanizaki-kun!" I screamed, running up to meet them.

"Hi!" He breathed out, exasperated.

"Were you running from Naomi again?" I asked, snickering.

Tanizaki-kun glared at me and huffed in agreement.

I only smiled back sweetly, acting innocently.

"Whatever. Let's just get to class," Tanizaki-kun said, ruffling his hair before walking off first.

I giggled and walked off after him, telling him to "wait up".

I looked up at the clock in the lecture hall again.

11.50am.

10 minutes till the lesson ended.

I glanced at my phone.

11.50am.

I groaned softly, not wanting to disturb the pin-drop silence in the lecture theatre.

I picked up my phone and stood a book on its spine, hid my phone out of sight and pretended to read my "Crime solving for dummies" book.

I opened my WhatsApp chats and saw that Ryū had sent me a message during orientation.

I giggled happily, excited for the lesson to be over so I could meet Ryū and eat with him

I giggled happily, excited for the lesson to be over so I could meet Ryū and eat with him. I hummed lowly, and slowly started to pack my bag to get out of the hall on time. Then, a slip of paper was handed to me. I glanced at Tanizaki-kun, who had just handed me the paper before looking back at it and reading it.

"There's a welcoming party tonight for the freshmen in this department. I was asked to invite you along. Are you coming?"

I thought about it. Since Ryū wouldn't be coming back until late... I might as well.

I caught Tanizaki-kun's attention and nodded my head enthusiastically. It had been a while since I did anything remotely social and I was excited! It was my first time experiencing a drinking party too!

I picked up my phone again to text Ryū about my own change of plans before the bell rang, making me lose my train of thought. I quickly shoved my phone into my pocket, said goodbye to Tanizaki-kun before rushing out the door.

I brisk-walked to the cafeteria where Ryū was already seated near the window, typing away on his laptop. He looked so elegant like that, back straight, glasses perched perfectly on his perfect nose, mouth moving along with the words he typed out... I love him.

"Ryū!" I exclaimed, waving frantically and smiling widely as he turned to look at me.

His face brightened up the same and I giggled shyly.

"Hey," Ryū said.

"Hey, you yourself," I grinned back cheekily. He shifted his computer to the side and motioned for me to sit opposite him. I gladly obliged and put my bag down beside me and took a seat as he stood up.

"Want anything?" Ryū asked, shaking his wallet.

"I get whatever you order."

Ryū hummed in response before walking away, towards the stalls to get our food.

Time passed slowly. I glanced at my phone, bored and fidgety and time seemed to pass slower. I glanced back at Ryū who was still queueing up.

I ran my hand through my hair irritably before standing up and deciding to excuse myself to the washroom.

While walking back to the cafeteria after washing my hands thoroughly without even going, I bumped into a senior.

"Ah! I'm so sorry!" I bowed, looking up apologetically.

"My, my, what a cutie," she senior smiled, though a little sinisterly.

"My boyfriend wouldn't be too happy to hear that hehe," I joked.

The senpai's eyes widened before smirking.

"Is that so?"

I only smiled back.

"Are you a freshman in this department?" she asked.

I nodded energetically, almost eagerly.

She was very pretty but my attention was turned most to the beautiful golden butterfly hairpin in her raven hair.

"Why, thank you," she said politely.

"Did I say that out loud?" I blushed profusely, "Sorry. It often happens when I meet someone astoundingly pretty."

"Well, my girlfriend wouldn't be too happy to hear that," she chuckled, fumbling around with her hairpin.

I rubbed the back of my neck before feeling my phone vibrating in my pocket.

Ryū was asking me where I was.

"I must get going," I said, bowing again before turning around to head off.

"What's your name?" she asked quickly.

"Atsushi. And yours?"

"Call me Yosano."

I smiled and ran off, back into the cafeteria.

"Where were you?!" Ryū asked, a little irritated.

"I bumped into a senpai-san in an accident on my way back from the toilet. Sorry," I smiled sheepishly while taking a seat.

Ryū sighed before turning to his food and eating it, albeit a little distracted.

"Ryū?" I probed.

He ignored me and continued to poke at his rice.

"Ryū."

No reply.

"Ryū~" I tried again.

No reply.

"Hubby~" I whispered.

His eyes shot up to look at mine, meeting my purple and yellow orbs with his pitch black ones. I reduced my eyes to slits before leaning forward, never breaking eye contact.

"Ryū~" I smiled.

"What."

Finally!

"Don't be angry, please?" I pleaded, pouting.

Ryū leaned back and rubbed his temples, mumbling something about my slyness and tendencies of manipulating his feelings with the way I looked at him sometimes.

I smiled innocently before eating my own food.

I was having so much fun teasing Ryū in the moment and thinking about the pretty senpai I had met before that it didn't occur to me again that I had forgotten to tell Ryū about my drinking party tonight.

I wish I did.
