Beep...

Beep...

Beep...

“Ugh,” Hazel groaned as she reached over and slammed on the stop button, not caring for the pain in her hands.

“It's way to early...” Hazel slowly got up, glancing at her horrid alarm clock. 11:15 A.M.

“Or maybe not.” Throwing the covers over, Hazel slipped on her slippers and got up, stretching her sore muscles. Hazel had gone to bed really late. Her and Nikki had tried to clean up but Hazel kept dozing off while wiping the table so Nikki told her to just go to bed. Hazel happily obeyed her order.

Walking to her bathroom, Hazel washed her face and applied some dry shampoo to her semi-oily hair. She was too lazy to take a shower. Going to her closet, Hazel pulled on a Hedley shirt which she had gotten when she saw them in Toronto and a pair of yoga pants from Victoria Secret. Grabbing a hair tie, Hazel put her hair into a messy bun.

Hazel heard a clatter coming from her kitchen. She probably should have gotten scared and reach for the closest weapon, but Hazel just casually walked to the kitchen. She knew it was Nikki.

It was. “Niks, are you okay?” Hazel rushed to her bestfriend who was on the ground grabbing the plate she had dropped. Nikki had not changed from her outfit last night. Her hair looked like a blonde birds nest and eyes looked bloodshot.

“Um, I’m just washing the dishes from last night, then I felt little bit dizzy so I dropped the plate” Nikki muttered. She spoke hazy, as if talking to a wall.

Hazel grabbed the plate from her. “It’s okay. I’m sorry Nikki, go get some sleep, I’ll take over it” Hazel said, feeling guilty for keeping Nikki away from her rest. Had she only known that Nikki had stayed over and cleaned for her.

“Hazel, I don’t think I can sleep by now, it’s already like 11:30 and I have to get to the salon in 3 hours.” Nikki rubbed her red eyes.

“Oh, I didn’t notice, well do you want some ginger ale to awake you somehow?” Hazel offered.

“I don’t feel like drinking soda at the morning, could you get me Starbucks instead, Pretty please?” Nikki asked as she looked at hazel with her puppy dog eyes.

Hazel playfully rolled her eyes “Yea sure, how I can reject my best friend, any special request?”

“Umm I’ll have White peppermint mocha.” Nikki said as she grabbed her shoes off and made her way out. “Thanks. I'll be in my lat. Mind bringing it there?”

“Sure.” Hazel answered as the door closed. She sighed and looked around. Wow, Nikki must have been cleaning all night. Everything was spotless. There was no disco ball or streamers around anywhere. The lava lamps were replaced back with Hazel's vase collection. By the couch, there was a rumpled blanket, meaning Nikki must have taken some time to sleep, which relived Hazel.

Hazel ran to her bedroom and exchanged her slipper for a pair of converse. Grabbing her keys and wallet, Hazel quickly pulled on a grey hoodie and applied a coat of lipgloss before heading off.

======================

Hazel was greeted by the smell of coffee and sounds of chattering. There was an increased volume in the chatter though. More specifically female chatter. What was going on?

A group of girls walked passed her, sipping their non-fat lattes, giggling as they they were looking looking at their phones. Same thing happened with another group of girls, except this time, their drinks were Iced vanilla lattes. Okay, now Hazel was getting intrigued. Was there a celebrity here or something?

Hazel looked over to the corner and yep, she was right. There was a celebrity in her local Starbucks. Blonde. Wearing a Snapback. Blue-eyed. Smiling and taking pictures. It was Niall Horan. Hazel couldn't help but smile, remembering the events of last night.

All the girls were so distracted by him that they line was completely empty. Hazel took her chance. Walking to the counter, she greeted the worker with a smile. “Hey.”

The worker, who was a girl, tore her eyes away from Niall and smiled at Hazel. “Hey, what can I get for you?”

“One tall White Peppermint Mocha and One tall Gingerbread Latte please.” Hazel answered.

The barista pulled out a sharpie, “Names?”

“Um, Nikki and Hazel.”

“Alright. That'll be € 7.65.”

Hazel handed the barista the cash and stood aside while the next customer took their turn ordering.

About 5 minutes later, the worker called their names. “Hazel and Nikki?”

Hazel rushed to the counter and grabbed the drinks. “That'll be mine.”

She handed Hazel her orders and smiled, “Have a great day!”

Hazel smiled, “You too.”

Turning around, someone suddenly ran into her, spilling some of their hot coffee on her arm. “Shit.” Hazel muttered as she felt the pain of hot coffee.

“I’m sorry miss, I didn’t mean too,” The coffee spiller said as he grabbed the napkin on the nearest table and wiped her arm.

“Next time, be careful and pay attention to your surroud-” She said but got cut off when she look up to the guy and realized it was Niall.

“Niall?” Hazel said painfully, feeling bad for shouting at him.

“Hazel? What are you doing here babe?” Niall said in embarrassment, feeling sorry for her too for spilling his drink on her.

“Nikki wanted some coffee. Oh and oh sorry for shouting, I didn’t know it was you though” She said as she watches Niall trying to wipe the coffee of her arm.

“Um, you know the cloth already absorbed the coffee so there's no point in trying to wipe it off.” Hazel said awkwardly.

Niall stopped, “Oh right.”

Hazel lightly bit her tongue. Great, now she made him feel even more worst. “So anyway, I gotta go. Nikki really needs her coffee.”

Niall took of his snapback and ran his hand through his blonde hair. “Right, sure. So, uh, what did you get?”

Hazel raised her eyebrows. Huh? Oh... “Uh, white peppermint mocha for Niks and a gingerbread latte for me.”

Hazel smiled at him before opening the door and walking off.

Walking into her building, Hazel made a quick stop to check her and Nikki's mail then hopped on the elevator.

Reaching Nikki's floor, Hazel got off and ran down the hall to 5E.

She knocked. No one answered. She knocked again. Still no answered.

“Must be asleep.” Hazel said as be balanced both drinks in her one arm and turned the door knob with her other hand.

It was unlock. Hazel sighed and smiled. Of course.

Niks, someday, someone is gonna break in. Don't blame me if I say 'I told You so.'
