The magic of love

The yule ball.

Now that I have my dress, I felt way more excited about the Yule ball.
Everyone was talking about their dresses and dates. Everything finally felt normal again, and I was ready for a great dance.
Ron even mentioned an after party in the basement that everyone was going to. You needed a password to get in so it was extra exclusive. And spiked butter beer and alcohol was being brought in, which the professors had no idea.

I told Cedric about my dress color so he could color coordinate with me
"We are going to have so much fun!" He exclaims.
I smile "you better get ready to do some dancing"
He laughs "oh I'm more ready than ever"
"Good. You going to the secret party ?" I ask.
"Off course. It's not really a secret anymore is it." He laughs.
"I guess not" I smile.

The day finally arrives. The girls meet up so we can do each other's hair and makeup. I do Hermione and Ginny's makeup and Ginny does both our hair.
"Aurelia? I just wanted to say how proud we are of how far you've come, you really pulled yourself out of a dark place and we wanted to say we love you" Ginny says.
"Yes, seeing you finally happy again is amazing!" Hermione says.
I tear up "I'm so thankful for you guys. I wouldn't have gotten through this hard time without you both"
"Don't tear up!!! You're going to ruin your makeup" Ginny laughs.
"I can't help it!" I say laughing.

I opened my night stand to get a bow I wanted to put in my hair. As I was searching a red glow protruded from the bottom, underneath a bunch of books. I reached under and grabbed something that was smooth and metal. I pulled it out, it was the necklace that Draco got me for my birthday. I didn't have the heart to throw it away, so I hid it from the world. My heart caught in my throat and the memories from that night flooded back. It was the first time we were intimate, I remember the way he made me feel so safe and loved. A tear trickled down my cheek
"Aurelia are you ok?" Hermione asks me.
I smile and hold the necklace to my heart for a minute. Even though it was all an act, that night would always be special to me.
"Yeah I'm ok" I say putting the necklace back and wiped my cheek. I grabbed the bow and closed the night stand, looking back one last time.

When I put my dress on I felt instantly like a princess, from the unrealistic fairytales that my mum always read to me as a kid. I looked in the mirror and did a twirl.
"You're going to shine the brightest tonight" Ginny told me.
"We all are going to shine Ginny" I smile.

When it was time to meet up with our boys, my stomach did somersaults. For some reason I felt super nervous.

Our boys were waiting for us in the Gryffindor common room.
When we walked out their mouths dropped. "You guys look gorgeous" Ron says,  his eyes lingers to Hermiones dress. 
"Wow...uh....you look dashing" Neville tells Ginny.
When Cedric sees me he grins "wow that dress, it makes you shine like a star"
"Oh stop. You don't look so bad yourself" I say. His black and white suit really fit him, his tie was gold, matching with the gold on my dress.
He blushes "let the night begin!"

Dracos POV
I tighten my white bow tie and slick my hair back.
I was nervous about going to the ball, knowing that Aurelia will probably be dancing close to Cedric while in a gorgeous dress will sting.

Dating Seren has been fun and all but nothing compared to when I was with Aurelia.
Seren was beautiful, but she's selfish that's not what it was when I was with Aurelia; she always put others first.
"You ready?" Seren comes up behind me.
She's wearing a slick black dress, her dark hair is tied in a low ponytail, and her makeup is dark brown.
I smooth out my white under shirt and I nod.
"You look sexy" Seren said pulling me in for a kiss.
Another thing about Seren is she's a little aggressive.
"How about a quickie before the ball start?" She tries to take off my clothes.
I shake my head "we'll be late, I don't want to miss it"
I walk away and look back she smirks "alright but you're all mine after the ball"
She grabs my hand and we head out.
When we walk down the stairs I notice students standing and talking. The band isn't playing yet.
"See we totally could've had a quickie, we're early" Seren whispers.
I shrug and we walk. I look around and notice Aurelias not here yet.
"Hey man" I hear Crabbe say.
"Hey!" I say. Crabbe doesn't have a date and neither does Goyle which isn't surprising with how've they acted.
After a little while of talking the band starts playing and the whole floor starts dancing elegantly. I still don't see Aurelia, or any of her friends. Until I look up by the stairs. I see Ginny and hermione with their men and standing behind them is Aurelia. I'm pretty sure the whole floor is staring at her, the gold and blue dress matched perfectly with her skin tone. Her scarlet hair is in a half up half down with a blue bow tying it together. Her dark green eyes shine in the light.
She looks like a star
And somehow, in some way, I fall even more deeply in love with her.
