Expectations

Day Two

It was half way through the day and both Niki and Syndir had the same schedules. It was lunch time and they talked while eating some chicken patty sandwiches they obviously didn't trust. They laughed and all of a sudden, two boys passed by their table, one looked at Niki, and one looked at her. They both blushed lightly.

" Who are those boys?" Syndir whispered. Niki came close and spoke quietly as she cupped her hands around her mouth,
" The one with the brown hair and highlights? His name is Jax. The other boy with the red colored hair? I have no idea, he is probably new." Niki sat back a little more in her chair and noticed Jax looked at her and winked. She blushed and smiled, not looking back. They threw their uneaten food away and walked out into the hallway to enjoy the rest of their day. At the end, they went to their lockers. Even though they weren't right next to each other, they both were visible to each other across the hallway. When Syndir grabbed her science book, a boy with red colored hair leaned against the locker beside hers.

" Hey...You look new." He smiled and looked at her. She didn't look back.

" And you sound annoy-" she stopped herself when she finished packing up her bag. She noticed it was the same boy that looked at her. She blushed and apologized quickly.

" Don't worry about it. I'm Vlad. I am new too. " He winked, making her heart race like a car on a raceway. She realized slowly how charming he really is. She looked over at Niki and she was going through the same thing with Jax. They giggled and smiled, then Niki met Syndir's eyes, her eyes gleaming with joy. They gave each other the thumbs up.

" Well. Um...I have to go." She muttered nervously. She softly gave him a smile and turned around. She felt a warm hand quickly grabbed hers and stopped her in her tracks.

" Hey..can I get your number? I am having a party this Saturday and Jax, that guy over there with your friend," he pointed him out without even glancing back, " is also coming...wanna go?" He spoke in this raspy tone that soothed her.

" Of course! " she said suddenly. She smiled nervously and turned and walked quickly. She felt the same poke again from Niki. Syndir jumped and yelled

" AH GOD DAMN!" She held her chest and panted hard " Geez! Will you let me know when you are behind me please?"

" Oh my god I was just invited to a party! WITH JAX!" She squealed and pranced around. Syndir laughed and told her she was invited too. As they got out of school, they went their separate ways. Syndir's black Jeep Wrangler pulled up to the curb quickly and the window rolled down.

" Hop in kiddo!" Syndir opened the door and smiled at her mom, telling her about today and how she made a friend, and how she met this really cute guy, and that he invited her to a party. Her mom was so happy. When they got home, Syndir ran fast up the stairs and dived into her bed of fluffy pillows, smiling and giggling.
Niki texted her that night, and they went on and on. Her eyes grew heavy as it got to 12 am. As they both said good night, and she closed her eyes, Vlad texted her a -sweet dreams- text that confused her, but replied with a sweet message and fell asleep, waiting for the next memory to pass her by....
