Vlad scooted his chair closer to her and turned her head towards his. His soft hand glided through her hair like a brown wave of silkiness. Syndir looked into his eyes and her eyes stung with burning tears, rushing down her face like a little girl watching a flower die. She leaned and buried her face into his chest, she smelled his sweet oaky scent. Her tears stained into his shirt. His hand rubbed the back of her head, sweetly singing Amnesia in her ear.

Vlad smiled a comforting smile that filled here with a safe reassuring feeling in her. As the sun rose like a beautiful topaz, Vlad spoke softly under his breath as they walked back into the hotel room. Syndir turned and asked what he said..and he repeated.
"When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they can seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall. Think of it--always..."
