" What are you hiding from me mom? Huh?" She spoke sternly as they reached home. She glared at her mother. Her mother sighed and looked at her.
" Your father left because he was apart of this gang. He joined this foul people to protect our family and he didn't want us to be apart of it. He never wanted to leave, even you knew that. I had to lie, saying that your father died in a car crash. He tried to save us from this man, the leader named Lukas. He...he never meant to hurt you, and you know that. He took care of you when I couldn't."
She sat on the couch and Syndir's eyes widen, filled with stinging tears. She shut her eyes tightly. She gathered herself and understood. All her questions were answered. She filled with confidence and sat up. She grabbed her car keys and walked to the door.
" Ill be back...I dont know if or when ill come home. Just protect yourself mom..don't ask me questions..." She kissed her forehead and walked out the door and into her red Jeep. She picked up her phone and dialed Vlad's number. She hit enter and held it to her ear.
" Vlad?"
" Holy crap are you ok?"
" I need you..to come along with me...don't ask ill explain later."
" Im here ok Syndir?" He agreed.
" Im pulling up, come out." She hung up and parked in the front of the house, the party was gone and everything was cleaned up well. The doors unlocked and he sat next to her on the passengers side. She explained everything that went on, drawing him closer with curiosity. He thought about it, just to fit things that didn't seem to make sense, but didn't care to ask. He fixed his red hair and looked over at her." Well? What do we start with " he added along with a scoff. He opened the window and stuck out his arm.
" I dont know...but ill see..." They drove for hours through New York into Connecticut. They stopped at a hotel. Luckily she had her laptop and charger. They rented a room and she went into research. She found out that Lukas was the leader of the group called Circle of Thorns. She printed out papers of history behind the group and their members.
Vlad hopped beside her and checked everything out. He read and read, matching different things to different people and put them into their orders. Pretty much like a pyramid. He scratched his chin and looked around the room for tape and just some random string. He found them both in a drawer and went to work, with Lukas on the top and his main two men below him, and four gangsters on the bottom, making a total of seven members.
" So your father was his right hand man...and since he left you guys to protect you from harm...," his finger traced along the red string to another picture, he figured out how Lukas planned his attack. She sighed and laid back into the bed, her head filled with so many things. What does this mean? What should this mean?
" Lets talk about it in the morning ok?" Vlad patted his bed and looked at her. The lights shut off and she tucked herself in. The darkness trapped her like a bird in a cage, being shot at with arrows like a target. She felt the quiet night cut against her skin, slowly leaking out her sorrow and her anger. Her memories like balloons, popping out like nothing and she woke up. It was 3am. She got up and sat out on the balcony, looking over the beach. She heard the door slide open and it was Vlad. He sat in the chair beside her and rubbed her head, kissing her cold cheek.
" Are you ok?"
" ...I don't know what to feel anymore..."
