Peter's POV
It had been two weeks since his major run in with the Avengers. He had returned to semi normal life, with school and patrol being his daily routine. He hadn't been bothered by the routine sound of blasters or the flash of a shield lately, so all in all Peter was happy. Actually, his mental health had been improving. Ned had helped a ton, inviting Peter to stay at his house for a couple weeks. Peter had found himself enjoying being Spiderman more, spending hours just swinging around feeling alive.
Flash was still being a little bitch and bullying Peter, but never as bad as when Captain America and Tony Stark had seen him. Even Flash himself was scared of what he did to Peter that day.
Ned had been super supportive of Peter's nightly endeavours, and was becoming quite a good 'man in the chair'. It was a big help to Peter to have someone there with him, and to keep his thoughts on the present. Honestly, the main reason Peter was keeping his identity a secret was for Ned, the last person close to him who was still alive.
Peter and Ned were walking back to Ned's house when they heard a large roar coming from a couple blocks west. Peter looked at Ned, and Ned nodded, signalling that Peter should suit up. Ned rushed to his house to fulfill his duties as the 'guy in the chair'.
By the time Peter arrived, he found all the Avengers fighting diligently. The monster, an obvious mutant that had come from another dimension (honestly Peter had no idea, it just looked scary).
"Spiderman!" Iron Man yelled, distracted by shooting beams at the monsters legs. "Just in time!"
Peter swooped down and landed in his signature pose, cracking at smile.
"Need my help guys? ;)"
skipping a bit of the battle cause i hate writing battles
Peter and the Avengers were pummelling the monster, now almost defeated. Peter dodged a swipe and webbed up one of the monsters legs. Suddenly, his spidey sense went crazy, and he turned to his left just as one of it's claws hit him full on in the chest. Peter felt himself become airborne, too exhausted to attempt to web onto a building. He hit a glass building, shattering a window as pieces of glass embedded themselves into his leg. Tumbling down, and down, and down. At some point, he felt his mask fly off his face as he kept on falling. He distantly heard Ned's frantic yelling, but Peter felt himself begin to loose consciousness.
He landed with a hard thud on cement, definitely crating a bit of a crater. He put his hand on a wall in front of him, attempting to stand up. The fact he had just fallen 60 floors, and all his injuries, made him fall back to his knees. Suddenly, he was quite aware of around 70 heartbeats, not moving. He glanced to his left and right discreetly, realising he had an audience. And not just any audience. There was a large group of people who had just watched him tumble down from the sky, obviously very injured. Them all stood about 15 feet away, creating a packed semicircle around the beaten up superhero. Luckily for him, his face was towards the wall of the building. He fell down completely, letting out a pained yell. He glanced down at his hands and saw them covered in blood. His vision began to get fuzzy on the edges, and Peter realised he was royally screwed.
"Let me through! I'm a doctor! Let me help him!" Peter heard, before he felt a hand of his shoulder.
"Hello son. Would you mind if I could take a look at your injuries? Don't want you bleeding out now, do we?" Despite the situation, Peter smiled, his face still turned away from the man.
"I-i..." Peter gasped, realising how painful it was to talk. "F-face. Please t-they can't know."
"They can't know what?" The man said as he moved to position himself between Peter and the crowd so that the hero could turn around with some privacy.
